Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1955 Chevrolet Nomad for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Chevrolet Nomad was introduced in 1954 as part of the General Motors Motorama line of "dream cars" developed by GM head stylist Harley Earl.

Exterior:
The body received a frame-off, rotisserie restoration. Painted in Bright Aqua Metallic with white flames and purple ocean floral designs. Frame has been paint matched to body. A reverse tilt hood opens differently than the standard models, showing off its craftsmanship without trying. Bright chrome with trim and bumpers showing off that mid 50's era. This is the perfect beach cruiser!

Interior:
The tan leather trimmed cabin features front bucket seats and rear bucket seats, color-coordinated carpeting and mats, polished sill plates, and a custom center console. Amenities include cold Vintage Air, power windows, seat belts, B&M shifter, and a power acoustic head unit with Alpine speakers. A color-coordinated chrome steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and frames a custom direct-fit instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, and additional gauges for temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 4453 miles driven since completion of the build, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership.

Engine:
Under the hood sits an LT1 350 cubic-inch V8 engine, bringing upgraded small-block Chevrolet performance to this classic Nomad. The engine is equipped with headers that feed into a dual exhaust system featuring Flowmaster mufflers. Power is transferred through an automatic transmission to a GM solid rear axle. The undercarriage reveals a black-finished driveshaft, custom transmission crossmember, and carefully routed exhaust pipes running along both sides of the chassis. The combination of the LT1 V8, headers, and Flowmaster exhaust gives this Nomad a performance-oriented drivetrain while retaining the unmistakable character of a classic Chevrolet V8.

Wheels and Tires:
The Nomad features Billet Specialties wheels that measure 17" up front and 18" out back, wrapped in 255/45ZR17 and 295/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 tires. Stopping power is provided by power disc brakes and power steering makes driving simple.

Suspension:
The chassis is one of the standout features of this custom 1955 Chevrolet Nomad. The undercarriage showcases bright metallic blue-painted frame rails, suspension components, and rear differential housing, highlighting the extensive customization performed beneath the vehicle. Up front, the independent suspension features Heidts tubular A-arms and dropped spindles, providing upgraded suspension geometry and contributing to the Nomad's lowered stance. A front sway bar adds additional suspension control. The vehicle is equipped with four-corner RideTech ShockWave air ride suspension, allowing adjustable ride height at both the front and rear. At the rear, a GM solid axle is incorporated into the custom suspension arrangement, with aftermarket mounting brackets and chassis bracing visible beneath the vehicle.
