for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Chevrolet Nomad was
introduced in 1954 as part of the General Motors Motorama line of
"dream cars" developed by GM head stylist Harley Earl.
Exterior:
The body received a frame-off, rotisserie restoration. Painted in
Bright Aqua Metallic with white flames and purple ocean floral
designs. Frame has been paint matched to body. A reverse tilt hood
opens differently than the standard models, showing off its
craftsmanship without trying. Bright chrome with trim and bumpers
showing off that mid 50's era. This is the perfect beach
cruiser!
Interior:
The tan leather trimmed cabin features front bucket seats and rear
bucket seats, color-coordinated carpeting and mats, polished sill
plates, and a custom center console. Amenities include cold Vintage
Air, power windows, seat belts, B&M shifter, and a power
acoustic head unit with Alpine speakers. A color-coordinated chrome
steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and frames a custom
direct-fit instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer,
8k-rpm tachometer, and additional gauges for temperature, oil
pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 4453
miles driven since completion of the build, approximately 150 of
which were added under current ownership.
Engine:
An LT1 350 V8 engine now sits where the original motor once was;
and is paired with a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission.
Electronic fuel injections provide reliable starting power. Headers
feed into a Flowmaster dual exhaust system for improved sound.
Wheels and Tires:
The Nomad features Billet Specialties wheels that measure 17" up
front and 18" out back, wrapped in 255/45ZR17 and 295/40ZR18 Nitto
NT555 tires.
Brakes:
Stopping power is provided by power disc brakes and power steering
makes driving simple.
Suspension:
Four-corner Ridetech Air Ride Shockwave suspension with Heidts
tubular A-arms and dropped spindles for adjustable ride height.
