There are a handful of numbers in the autoverse that instantly
elicit excitement and an enthusiastic rise in the pulse of
enthusiasts everywhere. Three simple numbers - 427 is all it takes
to open the floodgates of nostalgia and adrenaline-fueled memories.
That is why this numbers-matching 1969 Chevrolet Corvette 427
Tri-Power is so special. Decked out in a full repaint of its
factory-correct Fathom Green, this spectacular C2 sports subtle yet
unique flared fenders to add a little more aggression to its sleek
Coke-bottle shape. Throw in the best-of-both-worlds T-top
configuration, and unmistakably awesome side pipes, and you have a
trifecta of features making for one triumphant Tri-Power.
Inside, we find a factory-correct Saddle vinyl interior complete
with a 160-mph speedometer and 7,000 rpm tach front and center of
the tilt factory three-spoke power-assisted steering wheel, which
features a Crossed Flags center cap. The center console gets
fiber-optic headlamp monitoring, analog HVAC controls, a shift
pattern guide for the added Hurst shifter, and a small plaque
showing off the power specs of that magnificent 427 under the
hood.
Raise that signature front-hinged Corvette hood, and you're treated
to a beautiful numbers-matching L68 427 cubic-inch V-8. From the
factory, this big block made an advertised 400-horsepower and 460
pound-feet of torque thanks to its iconic three two-barrel Holley
carburetor setup. However, a mild cam upgrade stands to add to even
more power funneling through those sweet-sounding side pipes. Those
ponies are routed through a tried-and-true four-speed manual
transmission before heading out to the factory rear end and on to
15-inch Rally wheels shod in BFGoodrich rubber.
