This one has been built well beyond that, anchored by a fuel-injected 5.7L 350 LT1 V8 that completely changes the character of the truck.Backing that V8 is an NV4500 heavy-duty five-speed manual, one of the toughest gearboxes ever put behind a small-block. It pairs a deep creeper first gear for low-speed crawling with a fifth-gear overdrive for relaxed highway cruising, giving this Jeep real range on both ends. The fuel system has been gone through to support the swap, with a new neoprene gas tank, a heavy-duty fuel pump, and new stainless steel fuel lines feeding the engine. Spent gases exit through a 2.5-inch dual exhaust. Power reaches the ground through hardened axles running 4.11 gears front and rear with positraction, a combination that puts the torque down at both axles and keeps the gearing well matched to the larger tires.Underneath, the Jeep rolls on 15-inch wheels wrapped in new 33-inch Falken Wildpeak tires, with a full-size spare carried along. New heavy-duty shocks handle the suspension, and a 9,000-pound Badland winch is mounted up front for recovery and trail work. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
