Gateway Classic cars of Charlotte is happy to digitally present
this stunning 1971 GMC 1500 blends classic truck styling with
modern performance, comfort, and reliability. Finished in a sleek
Dark Grey Metallic exterior over a striking red interior, this
professionally upgraded pickup has been thoughtfully built from top
to bottom with quality components and attention to detail.
Under the hood sits a powerful 383 Stroker V8 (4-bolt main) paired
with a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, delivering strong
performance and excellent drivability. Performance upgrades include
a March serpentine belt system, Holley 750 Double Pumper carburetor
with electronic choke, Pertronix distributor, Hedman shorty
headers, Cherry Bomb side exhaust, vacuum pump, and a Cold Case
aluminum radiator to keep everything running cool.
The exterior has been enhanced with numerous custom touches
including a cowl hood, smoothie bumpers, smoothed door handles,
tailgate, and cab, along with billet hood hinges, LED taillights,
and new glass throughout, including tinted side windows. A
relocated fuel tank by Boyd Welding helps clean up the truck's
appearance while improving functionality.
Inside, the vibrant red cabin features a comfortable bench seat
with new foam, Ididit steering column, Dakota Digital gauge
cluster, Vintage Air climate control, and a RetroSound Classic
Bluetooth radio paired with a subwoofer for modern audio enjoyment.
Additional upgrades include single-piece windows and a complete
American Autowire wiring harness for reliability and ease of
maintenance.
The chassis has been extensively upgraded for superior handling and
stopping power. Features include coil-over front suspension, CCP
4-wheel power disc brakes, stainless steel brake lines and hoses,
and a rebuilt 10-bolt Positraction rear end. The truck rides on
staggered Cragar wheels wrapped in Cooper tires, measuring 7-inch
front and 9-inch rear, giving it an aggressive stance and excellent
road presence.
The bed is beautifully finished with Red Oak wood planks and chrome
strips, adding a classic custom touch that complements the truck's
overall presentation.
