1970 Plymouth 'Cuda Convertible For SaleThis 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda
Convertible lands in one of the most sought-after corners of the
muscle car world. 1970 marked the debut of the redesigned E-body
platform, and the 'Cuda was Plymouth's performance flagship that
year. The convertible was built in tiny numbers compared to the
hardtop just 635 'Cuda convertibles were produced for 1970, against
nearly nineteen thousand hardtops which makes any genuine example a
rare find today, and a well-preserved one rarer still. This one
wears an excellent color combination red exterior over a white
interior with a matching white convertible soft top that suits the
car's lines and the era perfectly.Power comes from a 383 big block,
period correct for the car and exactly the kind of mid-tier
B-engine that gave the 'Cuda its reputation for accessible
big-block muscle. It's backed by an automatic transmission that is
said to be numbers matching, sending power rearward through a
3.23:1 Sure-Grip differential in an 8 3/4 rear end a stout,
well-regarded Mopar axle and a gearing choice that balances
around-town drivability with strong acceleration. Braking is
handled by drums front and rear, as the car left the factory. The
car was treated to a restoration in 1997 and has clearly been
looked after in the years since. The drivetrain and brakes reflect
the care this 'Cuda has received over the years. The transmission
pan, gasket, and filter have all been replaced, along with the
temperature sending unit, and the brake system has been gone
through with a fresh master cylinder and brake lines. The car has
turned only a handful of miles since that work, so those components
remain in excellent shape the kind of maintenance history that
tells you this 'Cuda has been kept up properly rather than just
parked and admired. With only 635 convertibles built for 1970 and
survivors thinning every year, a red-on-white 383 'Cuda drop-top in
this condition is an exceedingly rare opportunity for a Mopar buyer
chasing the look, the sound, and the open-top experience of a
first-year E-body 'Cuda.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic,
