This is a real, last-year-of-production Tiger 260not a converted Alpine! An original California car with very few ownerswe even have the original purchase order. Our strip-to-bare-metal revealed it was never significantly crashed, rusted or abused like so many were.
The current owner brought the car to our shop for a full restoration and refinish back to the original Polar White (which is really a cream color), spending nearly $100K. (Its common knowledge that it costs much more to professionally restore most cars than to buy a finished one. Why do it? Because its the only way to know exactly whats under the surface!)
The body required little metalwork before being refinished and we found little rust to repair. Among the many service records over the years are ones to refresh the 260 engine, some new interior trim, Spax shocks and much more.
So why is it an opportunity and priced so low? Simplethe owner cant finish the project and decided to have us sell the car as-is at a substantial discount. It is running & driving, but should not be considered roadworthy yet. Most electrical things are working, but some wiring work would be advisable. The car starts right up and sounds great; it shifts well and the clutch is fine. Dash & instruments look very nice and the seat upholstery is pretty nice as well, but could still use some work The convertible top and tonneau are fine and all chrome looks nicebut theres finishing work to be done that most handy guys could do in their garage at homeand project cars always sell for far below their finished value.
Do a little work and youll have a really nice, restored genuine Tiger to enjoy. Decked out with alloy wheels, Cobra-style aluminum valve covers and no aftermarket wheel flares or hood scoops. We have a HUGE file of past service & maintenance recordsthis car is better documented than some of the Ferraris we see! There are even period photos from when it was new. Youve heard the old comment: Pay for the restoration and get the car for free? How about only paying for half the restoration?! This Tiger truly is an opportunity at $52,500.
If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, you are encouraged to visit and inspect the car in person. We strive for transparency in our descriptions, but nothing replaces a firsthand evaluation. Plan a few hours so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shop. If your schedule does not allow, we welcome a knowledgeable representative to inspect the vehicle on your behalf. Please understand that sales are final, so all due diligence should be completed prior to purchase. Our vehicles are sold AS-IS, as many are offered on consignment.
