Known as "The Smooth Criminal," this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 custom
pickup is a California truck that was the perfect candidate for a
one-off build. Designed and completed by Dana Macleod in 2020, the
attention to detail is evident throughout. The original sheet metal
fabrication work includes a 3.5-inch chopped roof, frenched-in
headlights, rocker filler panels, and stretched running boards and
rear bed. The laser-straight body was refinished in Opera Red
Metallic. It was outfitted with all-new tinted glass and a new
front chrome grille. Some of the custom exterior features include
dual mirrors, windshield wipers, LED headlights, 1952-style door
handles, taillight brackets and smoothed bumpers, including rear
exhaust outlets. The bed was finished with inner panels, fabricated
wheel wells, wood floor, fuel filler and hidden tailgate latches.
The truck rolls on new 18-inch Boze Flo-Lite Phantom black wheels
with polished accents. The wheels are mounted to new Firestone
Firehawk Indy 500 V2 tires. The interior cabin was decorated with
black leather by Seamless Custom. Some of the custom upholstery
includes the headliner, sun visors, door panels, console and bench
seat with center armrest. Among the custom interior features are a
Satin Black dash with pinstriping and glove box, AutoMeter
carbon-fiber gauges, Vintage Air climate-control system, Kenwood
stereo, Lokar shifter, cup holders, billet door and power window
handles, Ididit tilt steering column with billet levers and 14-inch
Billet Special Formula black anodized steering wheel. The organized
engine compartment with custom firewall was finished in satin black
to match the exterior and interior accents. This pickup is powered
by a factory 480hp GM Performance Connect and Cruise LS3 V8 engine
with a 4L70E automatic transmission package, Clayton Machine Works
coil covers, a polished cold-air intake and a Holley oil pan. The
engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator with electric fan and
breathes through custom headers and a dual exhaust system with
MagnaFlow mufflers. The power is transferred to the pavement
through a Ford 9-inch Positraction rear end with 31-spline axles
and 3.73 gears. It rides on a custom No Limits Engineering chassis
that was powder-coated black. Some of the custom features include
rack-and-pinion power steering, tubular control arms, coilover
shocks and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes. This vehicle has been
completely serviced and detailed, which is documented with an
invoice that's included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
