This 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne is one of just 183 produced for the
model year powered by a period-correct L72 427ci V-8 engine with
cast-iron heads, a solid-lifter cam, correct 3246 Holley
four-barrel carburetor, aluminum Winters intake manifold and Muncie
M21 four-speed manual transmission. Power is sent through a 12-bolt
rear axle with 4.56 Positraction gears. Additional engine features
include orange valve covers, an NOS dual-snorkel air cleaner,
points ignition, CW-code four-core heavy-duty radiator with correct
shroud and finger guard, GM-branded hoses, GM-coded belts, NOS fan
clutch and NOS idler pulley. The car is equipped with manual
steering. Exhaust flows through original exhaust manifolds,
aluminum pipes and turbo mufflers. The undercarriage was refinished
in satin black and features a rebuilt F41 heavy-duty sport
suspension with NOS Chevrolet shocks and front and rear sway bars.
Stopping power is handled by four-wheel manual drum brakes with a
single-reservoir master cylinder. Finished in Tuxedo Black lacquer
paint, the exterior features a stainless grille, chrome bumpers,
dual T3 headlights, 427 Turbo-Jet fender badges, original glass,
bright window trim and original 6-inch black steel wheels with
dog-dish hubcaps wrapped in Goodyear Power Streak blackwall
bias-ply tires. The red interior includes NOS cloth and vinyl bench
seat upholstery, red hook-and-loop carpet, red rubber floor mats, a
crack-free red dash pad, working gauges, push-button Delco AM
radio, working heat and fan controls, working two-speed wipers and
a red two-spoke steering wheel. Additional features include a white
vinyl headliner, full-size matching spare, factory jack, original
window sticker, original sales invoice, vintage photos, owner
history correspondence, original owner's guide, a copy of Muscle
Cars magazine featuring the car and 2013 restoration receipts. The
car received an Antique Automobile Club of America National First
Prize Award in 2014 and was featured in the November 1989 issue of
Muscle Cars magazine. 29,911 miles (title reads exempt).
