This custom 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is powered by a Street &
Performance 1996 Corvette Grand Sport LT4 engine paired with a Toy
Shop-prepared 700R4 overdrive transmission and is the result of a
professional frame-off build completed by The Paint House in
Houston, Texas. The chassis is equipped with an Air Ride
Technologies StrongArm air-ride suspension system featuring tubular
front control arms and Shockwave shocks at all four corners, along
with 12-inch front and 11-inch rear Baer brakes and a 12-bolt
Positraction rear end with 3.42 gears. The undercarriage is
finished to the same high standard as the exterior, detailed in
jet-black paint. Additional upgrades include a Rock Valley
stainless-steel fuel tank and Billet Specialties polished aluminum
wheels measuring 18 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear.
The exterior is finished in PPG basecoat/clearcoat black with
striking Candy Tangerine graphics. The custom interior was crafted
by Ron Mangus of Custom Auto Interiors in California and features
extensive use of Italian leather, including the dash and headliner,
along with custom split rear seats that extend to the rear window,
eliminating the package tray. Additional interior highlights
include German square-weave Charcoal wool carpeting, a custom
dashboard with Haneline gauges and a fully finished custom trunk
with leather panels. This Chevelle has been featured in Chevy
Rumble Magazine (March 2006) and the Super Chevy Chevelle Mid-Size
Muscle 2006 Annual, where it was also a cover car. It has earned
numerous awards, including Best Paint and Best of Class at the
Grand National Roadster Show in 2007, as well as Gold Class and
Best in Show at the Super Chevy Show in Pomona in 2005. Title
branded as Non-Actual Warning: Odometer Discrepancy.
