INTRODUCTION: Real Super Sport in its original colors and powered
by a genuine L78 396/375 horsepower motor! Professionally restored
with only 45 miles on a frame-off restoration and it is finished to
an exceptional standard throughout.
EXTERIOR: I'm sure you'll find others on the internet that may look
similar, but I'm telling you, they are not this car! I believe the
fit and finish on this one is better than when it was new. The body
panels are absolutely laser straight with clean, smooth metal from
the rockers all the way to the roof. I did not find a ripple or
dimple anywhere. The gaps are square and flush throughout, and the
doors shut like a new car without even a rattle. It was repainted
its original Marina Blue color, and without a vinyl top, the body
lines really stand out. The metallic is laid out evenly, and the
finish is polished to a very smooth, glossy shine. The chrome and
trim sparkle bright throughout. The bumpers are original pieces
that have been professionally rechromed, and the optional bumper
guards are genuine NOS parts. It also features dual bowtie mirrors
and a unique rear mounted antenna. The windshield has been replaced
along with the weatherstrips, and the door jambs are exceptionally
well detailed. It's rolling on a set of 15-inch rally wheels with
new trim rings and center caps, wrapped in BFGoodrich radial
redline tires for the perfect muscle car.
INTERIOR: This is a highly detailed and well appointed interior
restored right back to factory original condition. One of my
favorite features is the factory blinker tachometer, the turn
signal indicator was incorporated into the tach itself. Very cool
and unique feature. It also has factory gauges and a working clock
mounted in the center console which is also home to the factory
shifter. The entire dash area has been beautifully restored and is
complemented by the optional deluxe steering wheel. The seats have
been re-cushioned and upholstered, while the door panels, carpet,
headliner, and visors have all been replaced. Everywhere you look,
this interior is exceptionally tidy, clean, and properly
restored.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a genuine L78 396/375 horsepower motor,
and the factory "EG" code is still stamped on the pad. These
legendary high performance big blocks came with a hotter cam,
higher compression, rectangular port heads, and a factory aluminum
intake. Sitting on top is the correct Holley 780 dual-feed
carburetor, complete with the factory heat shield underneath that
was unique to Chevrolet's high-performance engines. It's dressed
properly with the correct air cleaner, valve covers, and exhaust
manifolds, while an upgraded HEI ignition system improves
reliability. It also features power steering and power brakes,
making this muscle machine both exciting and comfortable to drive.
The entire engine compartment is exceptionally clean and detailed.
The squirters are hooked up, the horns and hood insulation are in
place, it has reproduction battery cables and hose clamps. It still
retains its original radiator that has been rebuilt. The engine bay
itself is clean metal throughout and painted very nicely. You could
absolutely consider this one highly detailed.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is really sharp looking. Under the trunk lid
and the jamb are painted slick Marina Blue to match the exterior.
Inside is clean, solid metal with a proper spatter finish. It's
complete with a jack and spare assembly, along with a tire cover
that matches the trunk mat for a finished factory appearance.
UNDERSIDE: Exceptionally clean underneath! The body was off the
frame, and the chassis was properly prepped and painted. The
steering and suspension were rebuilt, and it's equipped with sway
bars front and rear. The brake system was redone with replaced
lines, and the e-brake is hooked up. It also has a great sounding
dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and a crossover pipe.
The fuel system was replaced as well. Looking up at the motor, it's
spotless in Chevy Orange and fitted with a high torque starter. The
Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission connects to a rebuilt
driveshaft, which leads back to a 12-bolt rear end with 3.55 posi
gears. The floors are absolutely solid, clean metal with a neatly
applied light undercoat.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every
vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected,
test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for
sale.
CONCLUSION: You can go out and look at a hundred of these, or you
can simply take my word for it: this is one of the best! The
condition, the fit and finish, the L78 motor, the original Marina
Blue color combination, and the factory features all come together
to make this an exceptionally hard car to duplicate. The only real
disappointment here would be letting someone else buy it!
