Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you this bone-stock,
low-mileage 1987 Buick Grand National! This is one of the 20,193
legendary Grand Nationals produced in '87 and it has a mere 16,650
ACTUAL miles (per the title and the clean CarFax)! Not only is it a
low-mileage car, it has had only 3 owners since new and we have
copies of the titles to verify that. It is obvious when you examine
this Buick that it has lived a pampered, garage-kept life. Let's
take a deeper dive into this very special car...
The factory black paint is still high driver-quality with a deep
glossy shine and very few minimal imperfections. Up front is a cowl
hood with "3.8 SFI TURBO" badging on both sides of the cowl, dual
side-by-side rectangular headlights, and a blacked out grille with
a discrete "BUICK" badge at the bottom right. Moving around to the
side, the stylish and iconic body lines come into full view and
remind you why these cars are still so coveted today. Not only is
the body black, so are the dual side mirrors, door handles, door
edge guards, body side molding, mudflaps, and window trim - giving
it a downright sinister look. Standing out against the black are
"Grand National Intercooled" fender badges and a set of factory 15"
10-slot chrome wheels with Turbo-6 insignias on the centercaps. The
wheels are all wrapped in Mastercraft Avenger GT tires that were
purchased in 2023. Around back is a rear decklid spoiler, a third
brake light in the rear window, another "Grand National" badge, and
exhaust outlets just behind the rear tires.
Under the hood is the powerplant that set this Buick apart from all
other American-built cars in '87. At the heart of the matter is a
3.8 literV-6 with multi-port fuel injection, distributorless
ignition, a Garrett AiResearch turbo-charger, and an air-to-air
intercooler. The V-6 is mated up to a TH200R 4-speed automatic
transmission that puts power to the pavement via a 10-bolt rear
axle with limited-slip differential and 3.42 gears. This
combination puts out 245hp and 355 lb/ft of torque - enough to
sprint 0-60 in about five seconds and run a quarter mile in 14
seconds! These impressive figures made it one of the fastest
American production cars in '87, second only to it's big brother,
the ultra-rare GNX. While under the hood you'll notice that this
Buick is equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes, and
factory A/C. The underside of the hood itself is dressed up with a
"Buick Turbocharged" heat mat and a courtesy light. We have receipts
that show the fuel tank, pump, and filter were all replaced in
2023.
When you open the driver's door you're greeted by a pristine stock
interior done in black and grey. The door panels are a combination
of fabric, vinyl, and carpet and they offer power windows, locks,
and a mirror toggle. The seats are covered in like-new black and
grey fabric with "Turbo 6" logos embroidered on the front
headrests. The driver's seat is power operated and works as it
should, while the passenger seat is manually adjustable. Splitting
the front buckets is a center console with a storage box, ashtray,
and shifter. Both the console and the dash feature stitched grey
vinyl that adds a sophisticated touch. Ahead of the driver is a
leather-wrapped steering wheel with a working horn on a tilt
column. The turn signal stalk is multi-functional - with controls
for both the cruise control and intermittent wipers. The wheel
frames a horizontal-sweep 85mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and
illuminating light bars that indicate rpm's and boost pressure. The
odometer reads an amazingly low 16,650 miles. Below the gauges to
the right are a switch for the rear defogger and a toggle for the
passenger side mirror. In the center of the dash above the console
is a pod that contains both HVAC controls that crank out cold A/C
and hot heat and the working factory Delco AM/FM/Cassette stereo.
We did note when checking the stero that the power antenna is
currently inoperative. Ahead of the passenger in the glovebox is a
working courtesy light, a trunk release, a business card from the
dealership where it was originally sold, and the original owners
manual, stereo instructions, maintenance schedule, and wheel lug
instructions. Overhead are a tight grey headliner and grey visors
that were all replaced in 2025. Underfoot is flawless factory black
carpet topped off with carpeted logo mats. Around back in the
carpeted trunk are the original spare and jack, the original
headliner with clips, the old visors, and the old fuel pump &
filter. The car also comes with copies of all the titles and
receipts for work done since 2023 (mentioned above).
If you're looking for a Grand National, this is truly an
investor-quality example that's been lovingly cared for since new!
These Buick GN's rise in value every year and their appeal is
timeless! This is your opportunity to own one of the nicest
examples on the market - bone stock, low mileage, and
well-preserved with ownership history! Give us a call today, this
car surely won't be here for long!
