***Vehicle Located in MA*** Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1949
Chevrolet Suburban Restomod. Combining the timeless styling of
Chevrolet's legendary post-war Suburban with modern performance,
comfort, and reliability, this beautifully executed 1949 Chevrolet
Suburban Restomod is the result of a carefully planned California
build that offers the best of both worlds. Retaining its
unmistakable vintage character while incorporating modern
drivability and convenience, this stunning example is equally at
home on the highway, at a cruise night, or as a standout addition
to any serious collection. The Chevrolet Suburban has long held a
unique place in American automotive history. Originally designed as
one of America's first true utility vehicles capable of carrying
both passengers and cargo, the Suburban evolved into an icon that
remains in production today. Early "Carryall" models such as this
1949 example have become increasingly sought after by collectors
and custom builders due to their distinctive styling, versatility,
and rarity. This Suburban was professionally built around its
original frame, which was upgraded by Deuces Wild of California
with a Ford 9-inch rear axle, four-link rear suspension, and
coil-over shocks. Up front, a Heidt's independent front suspension
with power rack-and-pinion steering delivers modern handling and
road manners, while power four-wheel disc brakes with Hydroboost
assist provide confident stopping power. Under the hood is a
rebuilt 2008 GM 5.3-liter LS V8 engine with Custom pinstriped cover
and paired with a 4L60 automatic overdrive transmission. The
drivetrain benefits from a professionally engineered wiring harness
and computer calibration from BP Automotive and is configured with
modern drive-by-wire technology. All factory engine management
systems remain functional, including knock sensors, O2 sensors,
mass airflow sensor, intake air temperature sensor, crank position
sensor, throttle position sensor, and idle air control. The result
is a vehicle that starts instantly, idles smoothly, shifts and
downshifts properly, and delivers the reliability expected from a
modern powertrain. A recently upgraded 3.50 rear gear ratio
provides excellent highway cruising capability while maintaining
strong acceleration around town. The undercarriage is exceptionally
clean and features a dual exhaust system equipped with Flowmaster
mufflers that provide a muscular but refined exhaust note. Finished
in an elegant two-tone Brown and Beige color combination accented
by tasteful pinstriping, this Suburban presents beautifully from
every angle. The body panels are solid, straight, and well aligned,
while all trim, chrome, badging, and brightwork remain intact and
in excellent condition. During the body restoration, the side vents
and air intake openings were smoothed for a cleaner custom
appearance, while the taillights were tastefully flush-mounted into
the rear fenders and lower rear body panel. A custom fuel filler
door and neck were also incorporated into the build. Rear doors
open with a popper button located beneath the rear bumper as shown.
Fuel delivery is handled by a new original-style fuel tank equipped
with an electric fuel pump that primes upon key activation before
startup. Inside, the cabin has been completely transformed with a
rich brown leather interior that covers the seats, door panels,
side panels, headliner, and steering wheel. Beautiful Dolphin
gauges with Odometer showing 2,218 miles on the build. Passenger
comfort was clearly a priority during the build, with a
tilt-forward front passenger seat providing easy access to the rear
seating area. Front and rear seat belts, tinted windows throughout,
and extensive sound insulation make this a comfortable cruiser for
long-distance travel. Climate control is handled by a front and
rear air conditioning system, with the rear evaporator unit
discreetly mounted behind the rear seat and floor-mounted vents
directing airflow throughout the cabin. Entertainment is provided
by a modern retro-style AM/FM Bluetooth audio system featuring
all-new speakers, a subwoofer, and amplifier mounted beneath the
driver's seat. A utility storage compartment behind the rear seat
houses both the battery and audio equipment. Additional
conveniences include a center console, overhead console with
courtesy lighting and sunglass storage, and a beautiful chrome
banjo-style steering wheel. The standard horn functions properly,
while an onboard air compressor and storage tank power three
chassis-mounted air horns for additional flair. Rolling on B/G Rod
Shop chrome wheels wrapped in 235/45ZR17 front tires and 255/45R18
rear tires, this Suburban has an aggressive yet tasteful stance
that perfectly complements its classic lines. Part of a collection
of meticulously maintained classic and custom vehicles, this
exceptional 1949 Chevrolet Suburban Restomod runs, drives, and
handles beautifully. It is currently stored indoors in
Massachusetts and is being offered with a clean title in the
owner's name. If you've been searching for a unique vintage SUV
that combines iconic American styling with modern LS power,
overdrive cruising, air conditioning, upgraded suspension, and
outstanding craftsmanship, this remarkable Chevrolet Suburban
deserves serious consideration. Be sure to check out the owner's
equally impressive 1950 Plymouth Suburban Restomod, also being
offered for sale. Please call Jeff if you have any questions or if
