***Vehicle Located in MA*** Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1950
Plymouth Deluxe Suburban Restomod. Long before the modern SUV
became America's family vehicle of choice, Plymouth was building
practical and stylish all-steel station wagons that helped define
postwar suburban living. Introduced as part of Plymouth's growing
Deluxe line, the Suburban wagon offered versatility, comfort, and
reliability at a time when station wagons were rapidly becoming the
preferred transportation for growing American families. Today,
surviving examples are increasingly difficult to find, particularly
those that have been restored and customized to this level. This
extraordinary 1950 Plymouth Deluxe Suburban Restomod combines the
unmistakable character of one of America's most distinctive postwar
wagons with modern performance, handling, comfort, and reliability.
The result is a professionally built custom that stands apart from
the crowd while remaining true to its vintage roots. Completed as a
frame-off restoration and custom build, the original body, doors,
and hood were meticulously restored before being finished in
stunning BMW Agate Dark Green Metallic. The rich color perfectly
complements the flowing lines of the Plymouth while emphasizing the
tasteful custom modifications incorporated throughout the build,
including a custom rear pillar delete that creates a sleek and
distinctive profile unlike any other Suburban on the road. The
exterior presentation is exceptional. Original bumpers, grille,
hood ornament, fender trim, and emblems were professionally
re-chromed and beautifully contrast the deep metallic finish. New
custom glass was installed throughout, including a custom
windshield, side glass, rear glass, and specially cut side panel
glass. Modern halogen headlights provide improved visibility while
custom LED taillights add a subtle contemporary touch.Power comes
from a professionally built 383 cubic-inch GM stroker V8 featuring
aluminum cylinder heads, a roller camshaft, forged crankshaft, and
polished GM Tuned Port Injection system. The engine bay is detailed
to show quality and features polished valve covers, a polished
March pulley system, MSD HEI ignition, polished alternator,
starter, and a complete 12-volt electrical conversion with modern
wiring harness and fuse panel. The performance-oriented drivetrain
continues with a GM 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission equipped
with a shift kit, high-stall torque converter, and transmission
cooler. Power is delivered through a custom driveshaft to a Currie
Ford 9-inch rear axle finished in silver powder coat and fitted
with highway-friendly 3.50 gears. The chassis was completely
rebuilt during the frame-off restoration and is as impressive
underneath as it is above. The original frame was refinished in
silver and upgraded with a Heidts Mustang II independent front
suspension featuring tubular control arms and power rack-and-pinion
steering. Out back, a custom four-link suspension with billet
coil-over shocks provides outstanding ride quality and handling
characteristics rarely found in a vintage wagon. Stopping power
comes from Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted
rotors, modern master cylinder, and all-new brake lines, delivering
confidence-inspiring performance in any driving condition. The fuel
system was engineered with equal attention to detail and includes a
custom-fabricated aluminum fuel tank, in-tank electric fuel pump,
and custom fuel delivery lines. Cooling is handled by an aluminum
radiator, dual electric fans, and a Vintage Air air-conditioning
system complete with polished compressor and custom hoses, ensuring
comfort even on the hottest summer cruises. The custom interior is
nothing short of spectacular. Finished in a sophisticated
combination of tan and green leather, the cabin has been
transformed into a luxurious touring environment while maintaining
the vehicle's classic personality. Custom-upholstered power bucket
seats and rear bench seating provide comfort for long-distance
cruising, while matching leather extends throughout the door
panels, rear side panels, kick panels, armrests, sculpted
headliner, and sun visors. The restored dashboard retains its
vintage charm while incorporating modern amenities. Original trim
has been re-chromed and complemented by custom lower dash panels
and integrated air-conditioning vents. A Dolphin white-face gauge
package featuring a speedometer and tachometer provides modern
instrumentation while the factory clock remains in place as a nod
to the Plymouth's heritage. 6,218 miles shows on the Odometer
reflecting mileage since build completion. An Ididit chrome tilt
steering column topped with a Billet Specialties steering wheel
adds both comfort and style. The custom dark brown carpeting,
matching floor mats, and custom sill plates complete the upscale
interior presentation. Entertainment is provided by a Pioneer
AM/FM/CD audio system with integrated speakers, while the rear
cargo area has been beautifully finished with matching leather side
panels and rear door trim over brown carpeting. The stance is
completed by a set of new Boyd Coddington aluminum wheels wrapped
in BF Goodrich Comp-2 radial tires that perfectly balance classic
styling with contemporary performance. Built to a standard rarely
seen among vintage wagons, this 1950 Plymouth Deluxe Suburban
Restomod offers the ideal combination of show-quality
craftsmanship, modern drivability, and postwar American charm.

road tours, or added to a serious collection of custom-built
