Coming to you this week we present to you, a beautiful 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 4.5 Sedan. It is a very solid and rust free example showing its well cared for life and best efforts to keep in away from the elements. The car appears to be a three owner car with history passed down from current owner. The car was originally purchased at Worldwide Motors in Indianapolis, by Mr. M F Bradley. The car was in the Seattle area in the 80s before coming to Tucson, AZ by the early 90s. The daughter of the original owner sold it to my client, who is the current and third owner of this beauty since 1999. This car truly is a time capsule and is interesting and enjoyable on so many levels and has a very colorful personality as well as history.

The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well maintained. The fresh Gold paint on the car was just beautifully three stage buffed to bring out the beautiful classic luster. The car has the expected few small chips here and there as expected from a 50+ year old car. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any accidents. The car is riding on original steel Mercedes wheels and hubcaps which were just fully polished. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in good shape. The car has older Pirelli Radial Whitewall on it, which should be replaced. I can include a set of useable Hankook 14" Whitewall tires with sale.

The interior is all original condition all around. The supple brown seats are all in good condition and look very nice, which shows the quality of material used in this car. The original dash in the car does have a few cracks and the wood near the windscreen is sun faded: a custom tobacco brown dash mat was installed to beautify the area. The rest of the wood is in presentible condition with no cracks and only very minimal lacquer checking. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, the spare tire and wheel, and a original trunk mat. The trunk pan is solid and the cardboard inserts are still in nice shape.

Mechanically, this 280se runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 4.5L engine is very quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car was always regularly serviced and the car was well cared for. The car comes with a 2" binder full of receipts going back to 1992, as unfortunatlery the original books and service docs were lost to time. The current ownership has spent over $50k over the last 20k miles in bringing this car up to a level of reliable everyday use. Recent work includes, transmission reseal and torque converter, all new suspension, complete fuel system overhaul, cooling system overhaul, brakes, trim, A/C system, and cosmetics including full repaint of the car.

All in all, this is one of the neat Mercedes. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This Mercedes is a fantastic car for the price.
