1960 Porsche 356B T5 Super Roadster presented in a rare factory
color combination-Black over Red upholstery. This is a two-owner
Southern California 356 and the 95th Drauz Roadster produced.
Imported by Porsche Car Pacific in San Francisco, California, and
delivered to its first owner, Otis M. Bryant of Palo Alto,
California, the 356 remained in long-term care for 25 years before
transferring to its second owner. Under later ownership, it was
maintained as a running and driving example before being stored in
the early 2000s, where it was preserved and left untouched until
acquired by European Collectibles in 2024. Upon acquisition, the
356 was found to be exceptionally original, with a matching
driveline along with matching doors, hood, and rear decklid.
Notably, the doors still retain their factory chalk markings, a
rare and highly desirable detail that underscores the 356's
authenticity and originality.
European Collectibles completed a meticulous restoration of this
1960 Roadster over 20 months from 2024 to 2026. During restoration,
the 356 was fully disassembled, stripped to its bare shell, and
every detail addressed. All panels were test-fitted with bumpers, a
windshield frame, and a soft top to ensure the best results. The
body was expertly metal-finished, prepped, painted, and reassembled
with panel alignment. All chrome parts were triple-plated, and
hardware, trim, and components were restored or replaced. The
interior features German red vinyl upholstery with square-weave
carpets. It has a black canvas soft top and a boot cover. Factory
options noted on the Porsche Kardex include reclining seats.
Lemmerz 4.5" x 15" ventilated chrome wheels, date-coded 1960, are
mounted on Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
Mechanically, the entire driveline was rebuilt: engine,
transmission, suspension, braking system, and fuel system, with a
new wiring harness installed. The matching 1600cc Super engine
offers substantial power, and the 4-speed manual transmission (Type
741) shifts smoothly through all the gears. Four-wheel drum brakes
were rebuilt, including wheel cylinders, brake lines, and the
master cylinder. The undercarriage is fully detailed to show
condition and is solid and rust-free.
Complete with Porsche Kardex, owner's manual, two keys, date-coded
spare wheel, jack, toolkit, and a coffee table photobook
documenting the restoration. One of 1,528 Drauz Roadsters produced
in 1960, with a matching driveline, a rare factory color
combination, and documented two-owner California provenance. This
356 presents a rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored
356B Super Roadster in outstanding condition.
