1970 Plymouth Road Runner Clone - Built 440ci V8 - Yellow Street
Beast!
Offered here is an absolutely wicked 1970 Plymouth Road Runner
Clone finished in eye-catching Yellow with classic Mopar rally
wheels, giving this B-Body all the aggressive muscle car attitude
you could ask for. Originally born as a 1970 Plymouth Satellite 318
automatic A/C car, this machine has since been transformed into a
brutal street-driven Road Runner clone built to turn heads and
destroy tires.
Under the hood sits a stout 1974 440 big block Mopar engine built
for serious street performance while still running comfortably on
pump gas. The engine features a forged crankshaft and has been
fully balanced for durability and smooth power delivery. The heads
have received mild port work and are equipped with heavy-duty
rocker arms along with a Direct Connection Hemi Grind hydraulic
camshaft with .492 lift, giving the car an aggressive idle and
excellent pulling power throughout the RPM range.
Additional performance upgrades include:
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Edelbrock 750 CFM carburetor
Mopar electronic ignition system
Ceramic coated headers
Full custom 3" exhaust system
Flowmaster 3-chamber mufflers
Chrome exhaust tips
The sound of this car is exactly what a real muscle car should be -
deep, nasty, and impossible to ignore.
Backing the 440 is a built 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission
equipped with a B&M manual reverse valve body and shift kit for
aggressive shifting performance. A deep Mopar Performance
transmission pan and 2500-2800 stall converter complete the
drivetrain setup perfectly.
Out back is the legendary Mopar 8� rear end fitted with a 4.10 Sure
Grip gear set housed in a desirable #489 case, helping this Road
Runner tribute launch incredibly hard and deliver neck-snapping
acceleration.
Suspension upgrades include heavy-duty Hemi leaf springs to help
plant the power to the pavement and maintain the proper aggressive
muscle car stance.
Inside, the car features new stock-style front bucket seats along
with a floor console shifter setup that keeps the interior looking
clean and period correct. The car still retains its classic muscle
car feel throughout.
This is not advertised as a high-end concours restoration. Instead,
this is an honest, extremely fast street car built to be driven and
enjoyed. The older paint still presents very well overall, and the
bumpers were freshly rechromed last year, adding excellent shine
and contrast against the Yellow finish.
Also included with the sale are brand new steering column shift
delete components still new in the boxes, intended to eliminate the
original column shifter housing setup.
This car runs, drives, and performs incredibly well and has the
attitude to match its appearance. It is the kind of car that draws
a crowd everywhere it goes and absolutely lives for cruise nights,
burnout contests, and hard launches.
