2022 Ford GT MKII For Sale - Special One-Off Livery To Commemorate
The First Prototype MKII GT40
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2022 Ford GT MKII
Ford Performance and Multimatic are leveraging expertise gained
from winning Le Mans to create the ultimate track-focused Ford GT
variant. The Ford GT MK II enabled a select few individuals to own
and experience on-track, a thrilling connection to Ford's Le
Mans-winning legacy. With liveries and select options defined in
close consultation with individual clients, only 45 vehicles were
created. The MKII mission is direct: to deliver the full
performance potential of the Ford GT in a track-only version,
engineered and built independently of the usual race-series rules,
regulations, and homologation limitations associated with such
cars.
This particular 2022 Ford GT MKII was inspired by GT/106 which was
the first prototype MKII and received the legendary 427ci engine
and the recipe that won Le Mans. Chassis GT 106 was tested by Ken
Miles at Ford's five mile oval at Romeo, Michigan. After a
promising demonstration (which saw Miles breach the 200mph mark),
Ford decided to enter a brace of the seven-litre cars for Le
Mans.
GT 106 was originally allocated to Bruce McLaren and Ken Miles
managed by Shelby American who had made a breakthrough with the
GT40 in late February when they won the Daytona 2000km World
Sportscar Championship race.
During the week-long build up to Le Mans, the Mk2 Prototypes stood
out as the fastest cars ever seen at the circuit. The car could
reach 210 mph down the Mulsanne straight and qualified almost ten
seconds faster than any Ferrari. During the opening hours of the
race, prototype GT40s were in the lead. Unfortunately transmission
problems arose, retiring both cars. Afterwards, it was clear that
the 427 GT40 would be the car to race and a more robust
transmission was necessary to make the distance.
This MKII offered here was painted in the same livery as GT/106
with a Frozen White base with blue stripes and white meatballs with
the #1 displayed. Offered with only 160 miles on the odometer in
showroom new condition, this stunning 2022 Ford GT MkII features
the unbridled twin-turbocharged 3.5L/700 HP EcoBoost engine
delivering the GT's true potential, not limited to racing
sanctioning bodies. The GT MKII features a purposeful black
interior with Sparco driver and optional passenger seats with
six-point harnesses, a cooling system for driver and passenger, an
in-car communication system and a MoTeC data acquisition unit with
a rear display camera, within an FIA-compliant roll cage
structure.
Included in the sale is a document binder, air jack safety stands,
battery charger, camber shim kit, MkII car cover, and an additional
set of aluminum alloy wheels are included.
With production limited to just 45 examples the Ford GT MKII is
already one of the most exclusive automobiles in the world and this
one is presented in a one-off livery to commemorate one of the
greatest original GT40s of all time!
