Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1972 Ford F-250 Special
Order for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The year 1972 marked
an era of robust design and enduring workmanship, encapsulated by
the Ford F-250. This truck, a testament to American engineering,
rolled off assembly lines with a promise of durability and power.
The Ford Motor Company, already a household name by the '70s,
fortified its reputation with this model, which became a symbol of
the blue-collar backbone of America.
Exterior:
The truck was finished at the factory in Wimbledon White, and the
body wears an older repaint. The 8' styleside box was optioned with
a bedside toolbox, and vacuum-assisted front disc brakes are paired
with rear drums for stopping power. You can tell by the photos that
the bed has been used, but it's not rusted or rotted out.
Interior:
The bench seat is upholstered in black vinyl with black inserts,
and the cab has a solid rear window, door speakers, and a
Sparkomatic AM/FM/cassette player. The steering wheel frames a
sweeping 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The dash is
cracked and wears a black dash cover. Technologically, the F-250
was ahead of its time, offering features such as power steering and
power brakes-luxuries in an era when such conveniences were just
beginning to gain traction. The five-digit odometer shows 50,023
miles.
Engine:
The 360ci V8 was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 327 lb.-ft. of
torque. A three-speed Cruise-o-Matic automatic transmission sends
power to the rear wheels. Although not built for speed, it can
reach highway speeds with ease and maintain them without breaking a
sweat. On rough terrain or smooth asphalt, the truck's handling
remained composed.
Wheels:
The 17" wheels are mounted to Nexen Roadian HTX tires measuring
LT235/80R17 all the way around.
