This beautiful Auratium Green 356 Speedster was built 4 years ago for a gentleman in Florida who just turned 80 recently. He truly enjoyed the car but decided that it was time to thin the herd and let another lucky owner enjoy this work of art…maybe you? These cars are built on custom shortened, reconditioned VW chassis with a reinforced steel sub frame. The hand laid fiberglass body is top quality and workmanship is second to none. This particular build was done in an authentic Porsche 356 color called Auratium Green that is one of the more rare colors on these Speedsters. It is absolutely stunning. The fit and finish most likely exceeds the original. The body is adorned with Porsche badging on the nose, rear and dash. With just 820 miles the paint and body look outstanding. The only flaws I noticed are a small spot about the size of a quarter on the drives rear bumper edge that was touched up and a couple of tiny chips on the top of the rear bumper that were also touched up. I always recommend driving these cars top down but of course it also has a great tan canvas soft top. Window inserts are also provided and a matching boot cover when the top is down for a clean, sophisticated look. This one also has the full tonneau cover as well.
Complementing the classy Auratium Green exterior is an equally stunning Buck colored interior that has a distressed leather-like look and feel to it. Also included is the upgraded Oatmeal German Square weave carpeting. The Speedster seats are very comfortable. Door panels are beautifully customized with closing document pockets and polished door pulls. Matching dash pad and passenger side grab handle. Period correct VDO gauges with a GPS Speedometer and digital odometer allow the driver to monitor the speed and performance of this air cooled Speedster. This one also has the Retrosound Bluetooth stereo with speakers hidden under dash. Beautiful Wood Grain steering wheel with a Porsche horn button and vintage style turn signal lever adds to the authenticity. This 356 is also optioned with heated seats Shelf pad behind the front seats. A custom set of Coco mats have been added for that finishing touch. Passenger side coco mat does have a small stain from a drink spilling. Simply gorgeous interior!!!
Turn the key and let the fun begin!!! As impressed as I was with the cosmetic improvements on these new builds I am equally impressed with the performance these new cars offer. The 2332 cc. is a brand new, fully balanced motor with top quality components from CB Performance.Originally Rated at 125 hp with the dual Kadron carburetors and 8.2:1 compression ratio this motor pulls strong and crisp. The gentleman who bought this car had actually swapped out the Carburetors with some Webers but he bought a tie too big for this motor. When we got it we swapped them out for our new IDF 40 carburetors and changed out the spark plugs and it runs like a charm. I would be happy to provide more technical data on the engine build for those who need it. Transmission is a 3.44 ring and pinion freeway flyer type. This combination provides excellent torque and acceleration in 1st-3rd and also allows easy highway cruising at 75 mph. Empi 5 lug 5x205mm 4 wheel disc brakes stop this Speedster precisely with ease. Other features include electronic ignition, stock dog house oil cooler and remote 72pass oil cooler with electric fan thermostatically controlled, Polished Vintage 190 Aluminum 5 lug wheels, and more. Great vintage tone from the dual tip exhaust. With just 820 miles on it this one has already been broken in and is ready to drive and enjoy. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed and floorpan protected with a bed liner material to ensure it lasts the test of time. This one also has a spare tire mounted in the front trunk.
