This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS has been the subject of a
comprehensive custom restoration and performance build, completed
with attention to drivability, reliability, and modern performance
upgrades. Power comes from Chevrolet Performance's economical
big-block 454ci V8, featuring a cast-iron block with four-bolt
mains, forged steel crankshaft and rods, forged aluminum pistons,
and a hydraulic roller camshaft with .510/.540-inch lift. Induction
is handled by a Chevrolet Performance intake manifold, while
exhaust exits through ceramic-coated Hooker competition headers and
a 3-inch ceramic exhaust system.
Power is delivered through a TH400 automatic transmission paired
with a Gear Vendors under/overdrive, effectively providing six
forward gear ratios for improved highway cruising. A Currie Ford
9-inch rear end completes the drivetrain. Cooling and accessory
upgrades include an oversized radiator, Edelbrock Victor Series
aluminum water pump, chrome high-amp alternator, and power
steering.
Stopping power is supplied by Wilwood disc brakes, supported by a
Leed chrome brake master cylinder and booster setup. Suspension
upgrades include 1901R lowering coil springs, coilover front
shocks, and a four-link rear suspension for improved handling and
stance.
The exterior is finished in Viper Red, complemented by a fresh
black interior featuring a horseshoe shifter, Ididit tilt steering
column, Flaming River steering wheel, custom stereo system, and a
Vintage Air system discreetly hidden behind the dash and firewall.
Rolling stock consists of Billet Specialties Fast Lane wheels,
sized 17 inches in front and 18 inches in the rear, giving the car
a modern yet period-appropriate presence.
