INTRODUCTION: This high end custom was professionally built by GP
Graphics & Customs out of North Carolina. The entire build is
documented with photos in its own hardcover book. This isn't just a
trailer queen show car either; it's been thoroughly sorted and
dialed in, ready to be driven and enjoyed!
EXTERIOR: The exterior is nothing short of spectacular, starting
with a genuine 1940 Ford Coupe. This is not a reproduction, it is
an all steel body; even the fenders and running boards are steel.
It has undergone extensive custom modifications, the most dramatic
being the reconfigured suicide doors with hidden hinges. Many of
the moldings and emblems have been shaved and filled, including the
door handles, which now operate by remote, along with the trunk
release. The paint is a stunning House of Kolor custom finish that
truly needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It's a
blend of Shimerin Candy Tangerine and Candy Root Beer accented with
custom hand painted artwork. Depending on the lighting and viewing
angle, the colors shift while the metallic finish absolutely comes
alive. The smoked glass is all new, and LED lighting has been
incorporated throughout. It sits aggressively on Budnik wheels, 18
inches up front and 20 inches in back, wrapped in Yokohama
performance tires.
INTERIOR: This is a full custom interior by Faith Customs, finished
throughout in tri tone Ultraleather. The comfortable sport seats
feature custom slide out storage drawers underneath each one.
Between them is a center console with an armrest that is truly a
work of art, it also houses the cup holders, shifter, stereo, and
more. The custom sculpted door panels match the seats, and the
entire cabin is upholstered with a clean, finished look. Behind the
seats, it's trimmed out beautifully and offers extra storage. The
reconstructed metal dash is fitted with a full set of custom
gauges. Down on the floor is premium square loop carpet, and in
front of the driver is a beautiful polished spoke steering wheel
with a wood rim mounted on a chrome tilt column. By the way, those
are not window cranks, they are power window switches!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Powered by Ford! Under the hood is a 5.0 Coyote
motor pumping out 420 horsepower. It's known for being reliable,
powerful, and efficient, making this custom build as enjoyable to
drive as it is to look at. It's equipped with a Ford Racing engine
management system along with air conditioning that's neatly
integrated without cluttering the engine bay.
An aluminum radiator and electric fan keep it running cool, and the
entire compartment is detailed with a clean, professionally
finished appearance.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: There's a release lever inside the car that
automatically raises the trunk with the help of gas struts. The
underside of the trunk lid is fully upholstered and features an
embossed V8 emblem. Inside, the compartment is boxed and finished
to match the interior, including premium carpet on the floor. It
also offers a built in storage compartment for added practicality.
Even the battery box is upholstered, and LED lighting completes the
custom presentation.
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame for a professional
restoration and custom build. It's still riding on its original
1940 Ford frame, complete with the VIN number stamped into it,
reworked and painted silver. Up front, it features a Heidts Super
Ride II independent suspension with tubular control arms, coilover
shocks, and rack and pinion electric power steering, giving this
classic Ford modern road manners. In back are Posies leaf springs
paired with a new Ford 9-inch rear end carrying 3.25 posi gears.
The braking system has been completely upgraded with disc brakes at
all four wheels along with a power brake booster, extra vacuum
reservoir and an electric e-brake system.
A fully stainless steel dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers
runs neatly underneath, while the polished stainless fuel tank adds
another custom touch. Looking up at the drivetrain, the motor area
is clean and complete with a high torque starter. A remanufactured
Ford 4R70 overdrive automatic transmission makes for pleasant
highway cruising. The floors are all rust free metal finished in a
satin body color paint, and everything underneath has been replaced
or restored, including the lines, hardware, and suspension
components.
