For Sale: 1940 Graham Pickup in Scottsdale, Arizona

Vehicle Description

1940 Shark nose, Spirit of motion Graham pickup. An amazing, one-off creation by the preeminent pre- WWII vintage military vehicle restorer in the U.S. and maybe everywhere else, Mr. Duncan Rolls in Longview Texas. Starting with an original Graham sedan Mr. Rolls created this masterpiece as a shop truck for his military vehicle restoration business. His restoration of vintage military Jeeps is legendary for their masterful craftsmanship and meticulous attention to originality and detail. As far as I know there's no one better. But, in this case Mr. Rolls wanted a vehicle that would run and drive comparable to  modern vehicles with the safety features and creature comforts that newer vehicles can offer. So, this truck sitting on an early 1990's Chevrolet truck frame and drive line was an excellent choice. With this he had fuel injection, front power disc. brakes, automatic transmission with overdrive, Air Conditioning, p.s, p.b. p.w., etc, etc. The entire front clip which is arguably one of the most iconic in collector car World is all original Graham steel. The doors are original steel as well as is the roof up until the "B" pillar post. From there the back of the cab is custom fabricated steel formed on an English wheel. The rear fenders are original Graham but widened to accommodate the GM chassis. The rear fender skirts are original Graham steel as well. The bed is steel as well but it came from (as I recall) a 1940 Studebaker pickup. I believe the running boards came from a forties vintage Diamond and the art deco split rear window is original Graham as well. The interior upholstery and the carpet are in excellent condition while the headliner is one of the best I've ever seen. The rear canopy is beautifully made using correct military grade canvas and belt webbing as insisted upon by Mr. Rolls. I could go on and on about this but, if you've read this far I'm sure you know how unique and special this vehicle is. The truck is tall and it's long so it makes a commanding statement wherever you show it. I don't care if you park it next to a Duesnberg or a Ferrari this is the vehicle that's going to get the attention. Simply put this is a very special opportunity for someone who wants something that other people don't have. Asking $250,000 as a place to start talking about it.
