Super nice, rare body style sedan delivery from 1953. Mildly resto-moded for safe and reliable daily driving. An extraordinary investment over the past four years leaves it's next caretaker in a very good position.
When purchased by it's most recent owner in 2020, this car was still equipped with the original Blue Flame straight six with the three speed manual transmission. This owner removed both and installed a fully rebuilt 283 V8 from a Corvette. behind that, he installed a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission and fabricated the linkage so that the shifter could be mounted on the column in it's proper place (Most would have just cut a hole in the floor for a cheap, plastic late model floor shifter to be installed.). A four barrel Edelbrock carburator was installed. Also the 6V electrical system was upgraded to a 12V system with alternator. Then a Mustang II front end was installed to provide power rack & pinion steering with front disc brakes! it doesn't stop there. A full stainless steel exhaust system and a rebuilt rear end differential was also installed.
A beautiful and full new interior too. A stunning and retro red and white two tone with vinyl and fabric combination. headliner, sun visors, carpet and all. Even the rear cargo side panels. A proper set of Coker Classic wide white wall radials to top it all off. This car is perfectly turn key and ready for regular use. For show or for work. Great advertising for a business and functional too!
The body has had an older restoration performed at some point and showing it's age. Some nicks and small scratches are evident on most panels but could easily be touched up. Also, there is older rust through popping out but not fully exposed yet. Most noticeable on both door at the lower corners. See the picture gallery for more detailed pictures of those. I've seen far worse but worth mentioning for sure.
Take this rare and desirable ride to the next level as most of the hard work has already been done or drive it and enjoy it as is just as it's recent owner has. This was used to promote his car show DJ business and it served him well. It's just time to move on and let someone else enjoy this piece of Americana.
