This 1936 Cadillac Series 60 coupe underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership before it was purchased by the seller in 2021. Further service was performed on the car before it earned awards in various Concours d’Elegance events under the seller’s ownership, as well as the Senior Crown Award at the 2024 Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National Meet, and Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Senior National and Grand National First Prizes in 2022 and 2025, respectively. The car is finished in black with burgundy fenders over beige broadcloth upholstery, and power comes from a 322ci L-head V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes hydraulic drum brakes, 16″ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and whitewall tires, dual side-mount spares, Trippe Safety Light driving lamps, a Flying Goddess radiator mascot, an AM radio, and a rear-passenger jump seat. This 36-60 coupe is now offered with a New Jersey title.
The Series 60 was introduced as a new model in October 1935 to slot between the 1936 LaSalle lineup and Cadillac’s Series 70 models. It was offered as a coupe, rumble seat convertible, or touring sedan, and 6,712 examples were produced across all three body styles for the model year. This example was repainted in black with maroon fenders under previous ownership, and it features Trippe Safety Light driving lamps, a Flying Goddess radiator mascot, a Turret Top steel roof, running boards, and bullet-shaped taillight housings.
A 2022 AACA Senior National First Prize and a 2025 Grand National Winner plaque are mounted behind the front bumper, and a Cadillac LaSalle Club Senior medallion is affixed to the left cowl.
Black-painted steel wheels wear chrome Cadillac-branded hubcaps, and they are mounted with 7.00–16 Firestone Deluxe Champion bias-ply whitewall tires. Matching spare wheels are stowed under maroon-painted covers in the fenders. The Series 60 features an X-frame chassis with a 121″ wheelbase, while suspension incorporates a Knee-Action independent front setup with coil springs and a live rear axle with leaf springs. Stopping is handled by hydraulic drums at all four corners.
The cabin was retrimmed in beige broadcloth during the refurbishment, while color-coordinated upholstery extends to the headliner, door panels, and carpets. The split bench seat features tufted and embossed seatbacks, and additional equipment includes a push-button starter, an AM radio with an under-dash speaker, and a fold-down rear jump seat.
The banjo-style steering wheel fronts a painted steel dashboard with chrome accents housing a 110-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for engine temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles, with approximately 500 miles having been added since the refurbishment. Approximately 200 miles have been added under the seller’s ownership, and total mileage is unknown.
The 322ci L-head V8 features a Stromberg EE-25 two-barrel carburetor, and output was factory rated at 125 horsepower. An oil change was performed in 2025.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission with synchromesh that was rebuilt during the refurbishment. The live rear axle has a 4.10:1 final drive. Decoding the Fisher body tag reveals the following information:
