The original plan was to fully restore the truck when I purchased it in 2011. Shortly after buying it, I installed a 350 crate engine. After a few months, around 2012, I realized that balancing my fishing hobby with restoring a classic truck was going to be expensive, so I decided not to complete any additional restoration work beyond the new engine installation.
The 350 crate engine has approximately 20,000 miles on it when it was installed in 2012. The transmission had been rebuilt one year before I purchased the truck, and it is an R100 transmission.
