Description:

This 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 was outfitted as a camper when new by Automotive Services, Incorporated (ASI) and was distributed by Riviera Motors when regional demand in the Pacific Northwest exceeded the supply of factory Westfalia campers. Restored in 2022, the bus is finished in Orient Blue over blue vinyl and is powered by an air-cooled 1,679cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes dual carburetors, front disc brakes, KYB dampers, 14? steel wheels, white bumpers, a pop-up roof tent, front crank windows, sliding side windows, a cabin heater, a sink, a refrigerator, storage cabinets, three-row seating, and a retro-style stereo linked to a custom sound system.

Interior:

The forward cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in blue vinyl with white piping. Appointments include a cabin heater, an eight-ball shift knob, crank windows, and a retro-style stereo linked to Sony Xplod speakers. The right-side sliding door features a custom air-brushed door panel and opens to reveal a rear-facing second-row seat, a rear bench that folds into a bed, a sink, a refrigerator, storage compartments, rear privacy curtains, and a pop-top roof with a sleeping platform and zip-open windows. Exterior:

Body-color 14? steel wheels wear white hubcaps with blue pinstripes and were mounted with Travelstar whitewall tires in preparation for the sale. A covered spare is affixed to the nose. The suspension features KYB Gas-A-Just dampers, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

Drivetrain:

The air-cooled 1,679cc flat-four features dual carburetors. Service in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the distributor rotor and cap, in addition to the battery, alternator, and ignition coil. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
