The Jeepster Commando (produced from 1966 to 1973) was Kaiser Jeep’s response to the growing recreational 4x4 market, designed to compete directly with the Ford Bronco and International Scout. These are really hard to find and you never see one that has had a complete comprehensive restoration like this 1970 Model. This model is known as the Kaiser Era which is 1966- 1971. This Jeepster was restored back to original but with a few major upgrades. The Jeepster came with the very reliable F-Head Hurricane 4 Cyl.engine which is what this one has. Originally would have a 3 spd or Automatic. This has major upgrade with a Tremic 5 Spd. Plenty of low end torque and highway gear with 5 spd. The Dana Transfer Case and Axles provide bullet proof Drivetrain. Another major upgrade is the Power Brakes as they came with manual brakes. This is a huge upgrade! Color is Matte Olive Drab with Black Interior. Now has upgrade Dolphin Speedo, Gauges and Tach. I have original Gauge Cluster. Has very nice sounding Retro Sound Stereo with Speakers under Dash and in the Rear. Also has removable soft top and Roll Bar.
Please take the time to study all pictures and video. Serious Time and Money went into this complete restoration.
This Jeepster is a blast to drive and be prepared to be talked to at every Stop Light!
I have 3 booklets of very detailed receipts that well documents the restoration . Receipts show most work was done at Detroit Speed and Custom.
