1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SLP Firehawk For SaleThis 1999
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am carries the SLP Firehawk package (WU6),
the licensed performance treatment built by Street Legal
Performance for Pontiac's fourth-generation F-body. Finished in
white over a black interior and showing 55,000 original miles, it's
a clean, low-mileage example optioned the way enthusiasts actually
want one: a 6-speed manual, T-tops, and the full Firehawk hardware
on top of the Trans Am body. With only 719 SLP Firehawks built for
the 1999 model year, it represents the performance halo of the
F-body's final years. At the heart of the car is the 5.7L LS1 V8,
which SLP fitted with its forced-air induction system and a
composite hood with functional scoops, raising output to 327
horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque over the standard car. A
stainless steel exhaust with dual tips finishes the back half.
Power runs through a Borg-Warner T56 6-speed manual to a
limited-slip rear end, which is the drivetrain combination that
gives these cars their character a naturally aspirated pushrod V8
with a proper stick and the deep midrange torque that defined the
LS1 era. It's also the configuration most sought after on the
secondhand market. The Firehawk package added its own suspension
tuning and a wheel-and-tire setup on 17-inch wheels with wide
rubber, giving the car a planted stance to match the powertrain. As
a Trans Am, it wears the model's distinct front fascia, full ground
effects, and the raised rear wing that set it apart from the
Formula. This example is also equipped with the removable T-tops,
with the factory storage provisions in the rear hatch for stowing
the panels when they're out. Inside, the black interior keeps the
cabin focused and driver-oriented.By 1999 the Firebird was in the
final stretch of a run that ended after the 2002 model year, taking
the F-body platform with it. The SLP Firehawk stands as the
sendoff-era performance variant of that generation, and a low-mile,
6-speed, T-top example checks the boxes that the people who chase
these cars care about most and they're getting harder to find
preserved this well.NFI Empire specializes in classic, exotic,
