This 1981 Jeep CJ-7 is an all steel, clean, and cool CJ that came
out of California. This Jeep has some really cool features and
upgrades. It was built to be a reliable driver but also able to do
some light off-roading. The body on this CJ is really clean and
straight. It was repainted at some point in its original color of
Oriental Red and the paint looks excellent. It has aftermarket
front and rear bumpers and nerf bars. It has a nice bestop Soft Top
with Soft door and also half hard doors. They added LED headlights
and taillights. The underside is original and unrestored an looks
great...really clean. We found no rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior on this Jeep is nice. It has aftermarket Bestop front
bucket Seats and a bestop fold and tumble rear seat. The interior
was all professionally Line-Xed and also has a newer carpet kit
installed on top of that. It has a factory roll bar and a rear
locking storage container. The dash, dash pad, and door panels are
original and nice. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and
turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. It has tilt
wheel. The windshield wipers, horn, and heat are working. This is
an AC Jeep and the system appears complete but it is not blowing
cold currently. It also has a nice aftermarket stereo with
bluetooth.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent! It runs and drives great! The
engine is the original AMC 304 V8 that runs strong with no issue or
red flags that we found. It has Howell Fuel Injection installed
with HEI ignition. It runs excellent and passed California Smog in
the last year according to the last owner. It has the 904
Torqueflight 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts great. It
is mated to the Dana 300 transfer case and the 4WD works like it
should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 that was rebuilt by Unitrax
(Tag still on axle). It has 3.73 gears , limited slip rear end, and
aftermarket axle shafts. The front axle is a Dana 30 that was also
rebuilt by Unitrax. It had new ball joints done at the time. The
driveshafts have new u joints. This Jeep has a 4 Inch all spring
lift with HD shackles. It has power front disc brakes and power
steering. This is all sitting on a nice set of aluminum wheels with
Falken Wildpeak All Terrain tires size 185/75/17.
