INTRODUCTION: 1 of just 963 R/T convertibles built! Original purple
383 car, it's been taken to the next level with a ground-up
restoration and upgraded with a correct 440 Six-Pack- now
delivering the look and performance most buyers want!
EXTERIOR: Right from the start, it's an extremely rare R/T
convertible and what really pushes this one over the top is the
factory Plum Crazy Purple finish! Paired with black hood and side
stripes, it is an absolute head turner everywhere it goes. The body
is straight and smooth from front to back right down to the
rockers, with very nice panel fit throughout. The paint is laid out
beautifully and polished to a deep, high gloss finish. All of the
chrome and trim presents bright and clean. It features hood pins,
the correct antenna, and the iconic pop up racing gas cap. The
glass appears to be original. The power convertible top is in
excellent shape and includes a glass rear window. It's sitting
proudly on a set of 15-inch Rallye wheels wrapped with reproduction
Goodyear Polyglas tires, giving it the perfect period-correct
stance.
INTERIOR: Inside it has a very honest, well preserved appearance.
The carpet has been replaced and fits nicely, while the seats have
been reupholstered and look fresh. It still has its original dash
pad, which is a big plus in my opinion because the VIN tag has
never been disturbed. There are a couple minor cracks near the
speaker corners, but overall it presents very well. It's equipped
with the desirable Rallye dash with full gauge package, including
the factory tachometer. The original AM radio is still in place,
and the center console is in very nice shape with its iconic Slap
Stik shifter. The plastic door panels are in good condition and the
rear panels do have a pair of vintage Jensen speakers. It also has
a full set of seat belts, and the interior light is working.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay was stripped, detailed, and
refinished in the car's beautiful Plum Crazy Purple paint, making
for an impressive presentation when the hood is lifted. Originally
born with a 383, it has since been upgraded to a date correct 440
topped with a factory Six Pack setup. The engine compartment keeps
a very stock appearance with correct style valve covers, exhaust
manifolds, Edelbrock intake, Holley carbs, and factory air cleaner.
At the front of the motor, the pulleys, brackets, alternator, and
power steering system are all clean and properly detailed. It also
features power brakes, making this big block convertible far more
enjoyable to drive. The compartment is finished off very well with
proper hoses and wiring routing, both horns in place, Mopar washer
bottle, correct fan shroud, and even a Mopar battery topper for the
right vintage appearance. Adding to its authenticity, the hidden
VIN stampings on the core support and cowl match the car, and the
original fender tag is still in place.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is just as impressive as the rest of the car.
Under the trunk lid, the jamb, and the entire compartment are all
finished in vibrant purple paint. Inside is clean, solid metal,
detailed with factory style stickers, a new weatherstrip, a trunk
mat, and complete jack and spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It is very well sorted and presented exceptionally
clean. The steering and suspension appear to be in great shape,
featuring sway bars front and rear for improved handling. The
steering gearbox was just replaced, and a fresh front end alignment
was recently completed. The brake system functions properly with
disc brakes up front, drums in back, and the e-brake assembly
hooked up and working as it should. It has a fresh dual exhaust
system with correct tube-style mufflers and square tips exiting
through the valance for that unmistakable Mopar look. The fuel tank
has been replaced as well. Looking up at the motor, everything is
clean and tidy, including a fresh looking starter. The 727
TorqueFlite automatic transmission looks clean, shifts properly,
and recently had the reverse light and neutral safety switches
replaced. The driveshaft leads back to an 8 rear end packed with
aggressive 4.10 Sure Grip gears that deliver serious off the line
punch. The floors are very smooth, clean metal, neatly prepped and
painted in semi-gloss black for a crisp, detailed presentation.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every

test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for

CONCLUSION: This is the kind of Mopar people dream about owning: a
rare, genuine R/T convertible finished in iconic Plum Crazy purple.
Add in the 440 Six Pack, 4.10 Sure Grip rear end, and slapstick
automatic, and you've got a car that's every bit as exciting to
drive as it is collectible. Drop the top, hit the gas, and enjoy
one of the most desirable muscle cars of the era!
