The Toyota Land Cruiser originated during the early days of the Korean War when American forces occupying Japan needed additional rugged vehicles (like their own Jeep) as they moved into the Korean peninsula. The Americans chose a different design, but Toyota continued development and in 1955 chose the name Land Cruiser for the early J2. This evolved until 1960 when the legendary FJ40 was born and the rest, as they say, is history. With an international pedigree like a Land Rover, the rugged simplicity of a Jeep, and a swagger like the old Bronco, the FJ40 is like a greatest hits album of classic trucks! This stunning 1979 Toyota FJ40, paint exterior and interior are all original with leather seats and a hardtop installed but convertible kit is included. NO STEREO, NO AC, NO POWER STEERING.
