"The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is one of the most iconic and beloved
cars in automotive history, known for its beautiful design and
enduring charm. Produced between 1955 and 1974, the Karmann Ghia
was Volkswagen's stylish answer to the growing demand for
affordable, well-designed sports cars in the post-war era.
Combining the reliable mechanical underpinnings of the Volkswagen
Beetle with Italian design flair and German engineering, the
Karmann Ghia became an instant classic, and its legacy continues to
captivate car enthusiasts to this day."-visionhotrod.com
This 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible is powered by an air
cooled dual-port 4-cylinder motor paired with a 4-speed manual
transmission. This Volkswagen features a red exterior, black
interior, and tan convertible top.
Being under the same ownership since 1989 this Karmann Ghia
underwent a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration in 1990, a
refresh consisting of a repaint and new top in 2012 (which now has
a small tear that has been patched) as well as regular maintenance
as required.
The red paint presents well, showing typical wear consistent with a
well-loved, seasonally driven car. The interior is in good overall
condition, with some wear visible on the door panels and rear side
panels.
The 1.6-liter motor runs well and has been well maintained,
including a recent oil change.
This Karmann Ghia is running on steel wheels wrapped in new Nexon
SB-802 tires. Enjoy this classic Volkswagen convertible just in
time for the sunny weather.
