Among the most iconic cars in history, the Type 1, better known as
the Volkswagen Beetle, has maintained its fun and vibrant spirit
for over half a century. As one of the first examples of a
democratic vehicle charming consumers with its reduced cost, the
carefree symbol of peace and love has continually distinguished
itself throughout the years.
This 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible is featured in Texas
Yellow with dark grey seating upholstery and hounds tooth door
panels. Power is provided by a 1.6-liter motor paired with a single
down draft carburetor and mated to a 4-speed manual
transmission.
The air-cooled flat 4-cylinder motor comes to a quick start and
runs very well with no known issues. The interior of this Super
Beetle has been upgraded with dash mounted VDO gauges, Dino
steering wheel, hounds tooth door panels and sport seats which
provide additional support and a great look although somewhat sun
faded.
The Texas Yellow paint shows very well over corrosion free body
panels. The underside exhibits previous rust repair but is now
extremely solid and again free of any major corrosion.
The white vinyl convertible top is in good condition with no tears
and is covered by a black convertible boot when in the open
position.
This Volkswagen Super Beetle is running on chrome wheels with VW
stamped chrome center caps and are wrapped in 165/80R15 tires.
