Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this 1980 Chevrolet Camaro
RS. Dressed in its original-style two-tone paint scheme and loaded
with all the right upgrades to make it a killer street cruiser. The
car has been repainted at some point in its life, and the body and
paint are far from perfect. It does have a few spots that could use
some attention, but overall, it still has a great look with that
classic second-gen stance, factory wheels, Cooper Cobra Radial G/T
tires, and rear window louvers that absolutely scream 1980s muscle.
The undercarriage is surprisingly clean with solid floors and no
major rust issues underneath. This is the kind of car you can jump
in, drive, enjoy, and not be afraid to actually use. Inside is
where you start seeing just how much money was invested into this
build. It's got all new AutoMeter gauges, newer door panels, window
cranks, steering wheel, and headliner, along with the correct shift
indicator for the upgraded TCI 700R4 overdrive transmission. The
new shift linkage feels tight and smooth, and the car drives
exactly how you'd want a built street Camaro to drive. Best part of
the interior is the Vintage Air setup - ice cold A/C, hot heat, and
everything works like it should. The carpet, seats, dash, and
console all still appear original and show some age, but honestly,
it fits the car well and keeps that old-school feel intact.
Under the hood is where the real story is. This Camaro is powered
by a new GM Performance crate 383ci stroker, breathing through a GM
dual-plane intake, and fed by a Brawler 670 carb. It is also
equipped with a pair of FlowTech long-tube headers and a brand-new
exhaust system that sounds great. to keep that 383 cool it has a
new Dewitts Aluminum radiator with dual electric puller fans. It's
got a March pulley setup, new power steering pump, Vintage Air
compressor, new HEI distributor, alternator, brake booster, and
master cylinder. Underneath, the suspension has been gone through
with new lower control arms, springs, shocks, sway bars, and end
links front and rear. Out back, it's got an Eaton posi with 3.75
gears along with new bearings and seals. There's over $40k in
receipts tied up in the drive train, suspension, and electronics,
and it shows the second you fire the car up and take it down the
road.
