1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Custom - LS-Powered Frame-Off Rotisserie
Build
This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Custom delivers the perfect blend of
classic square-body style, modern drivability, and show-quality
restoration work. Finished in Aqua Green Metallic with white
accents and a removable white hardtop, this Blazer has the look
everyone wants - but underneath, it has the upgraded powertrain,
suspension, braking, and comfort features that make it far more
usable than stock.
Recipient of a frame-off rotisserie restoration completed in 2024,
this K5 was built with serious attention to detail from top to
bottom. The underside is clean and highly detailed, featuring a
powder-coated frame, fresh hardware, new components throughout, and
a properly finished presentation that shows the level of work
invested into the build.
Exterior
The Aqua Green Metallic paint gives this Blazer a bright,
period-correct look with excellent curb appeal. The white removable
hardtop, white lower body accents, chrome bumpers, Chevrolet
tailgate lettering, polished trim, and classic front grille all
come together to create a clean factory-inspired appearance.
The stance is exactly right - lifted, aggressive, but still
tasteful. The body presents beautifully, with crisp reflections,
clean panel fitment, and the kind of color combination that
immediately separates it from the average K5.
Wheels & Stance
This Blazer sits on KMC beadlock-style wheels wrapped in
35x12.50R17 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. The 5-inch lift
gives it a strong presence without taking away from the classic
body lines.
Suspension upgrades include all-new shocks, bushings, body mounts,
and a dual steering stabilizer setup, giving the truck a confident,
planted feel while maintaining the rugged attitude these early
Blazers are known for.
Interior
Inside, the Buckskin Tan custom interior gives this build a
high-end, vintage-modern feel. The upgraded seating, custom rear
bench, wrapped center console with cupholders, upgraded door
panels, fresh dash pad, and clean carpeting make the cabin far more
refined than stock while still keeping the right classic Chevrolet
personality.
The interior has been upgraded with a tilt steering column, Dakota
Digital gauge cluster with tachometer, Vintage Air climate control,
and a Custom Autosound auxiliary-input radio. The result is a cabin
that looks period-correct at a glance but offers the comfort and
usability expected in a modern custom build.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from an upgraded 5.3L LS V8 rated at approximately 450
horsepower. The engine is topped with an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI
system and dressed with a CVF front serpentine accessory drive,
including power steering and air conditioning components.
Backing the LS is a freshly rebuilt 4L60E 4-speed automatic
transmission paired with an NP205 transfer case, giving this Blazer
the right combination of modern drivability and classic 4x4
capability.
Steering & Brakes
Braking has been upgraded with a Wilwood power brake booster and
master cylinder, all-new stainless-steel brake lines, and front
disc brakes. The power steering, dual steering stabilizers, fresh
suspension components, and upgraded brake system make this K5 much
more enjoyable and confidence-inspiring on the road.
The Drive
This Blazer checks all the right boxes: classic first-generation K5
looks, removable hardtop, LS power, fuel injection, automatic
overdrive, Vintage Air, upgraded brakes, lifted stance, and a
highly detailed frame-off restoration. It has the presence of a
vintage 4x4 with the drivability and comfort upgrades that make it
easy to enjoy.
Clean, highly detailed, and tastefully built, this 1972 Chevrolet
K5 Blazer Custom is the kind of truck that stands out anywhere -
from local cruise-ins to weekend drives, beach trips, or a serious
collection.
