Signal-seeking with pre-selector radio and antenna, back-up lights,
power trunk release, original spare wheel and jack and it's
original 365 CID 4 BBL V8 engine!There's no better example of GM's
styling and engineering prowess than the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado -
drive one like this particular example and you will see why - its
hard to believe that this car was built 70 years ago! In 1955 the
Cadillac Seville two door Hardtop was born and this is one of the
few late 1950's cars built. The model featured the massive grille
and bullet noses with distinct shark fins unique just to the
Eldorado. The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville was priced at exactly
the same price as its cousin the Biarritz convertible at $7,286 and
was one of the highest priced cars of its day - and with good
reason - fifties excess had virtually reached its peak with
Cadillac boasting bigger cars with more chrome and larger fins than
ever before! These cars bristled with the latest in modern
appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market with a
recession making owning one only for the very privileged elite. The
original 365 CID 4 barrel V8 engine and the transmission were
reportedly rebuilt by it's previous owners and this particular car
therefore drives accordingly, that is absolutely magnificently -
must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and
purrs like a kitten - the transmission shifts smoothly through the
gears and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive! The car boasts
its original spare wheel and jack in the truck and from looking at
the photographs you can see how clean the engine compartment is and
all the power options are working as they should. This is an
extraordinarily rare opportunity to own a great daily driving
example of a mostly completely original 1957 Cadillac Eldorado
Seville 365 V8 2 Door Hardtop which is an excellent example for the
most discerning Cadillac collector or simply a great daily driving
all American classic for any Cadillac or American classic car
enthusiast!
