The 2008 Corvette marked the beginning of a new chapter for the C6
generation. This was the first year Chevrolet swapped out the LS2
for the all-new LS3, a 6.2 liter V8 that brought a 30 horsepower
increase, more torque, and a noticeable step forward in overall
refinement. It was the right engine at the right time, and it
powered the Corvette through the rest of the C6's production run
all the way to 2013. This example is finished in Jetstream Blue
Metallic Tintcoat with grey racing stripes and the signature red
hash marks on the front fenders, a combination that is sharp,
intentional, and turns heads without being loud about it. With just
8,500 original miles from one owner from new, this car has barely
been broken in.
Under the hood the LS3 is backed by a six speed manual and
bolstered by the Z51 performance package, which pushed output to
436 horsepower and added cross drilled brake rotors, stiffer
suspension, and extra cooling designed for drivers who actually use
what the car can do. A Corsa exhaust lets the engine breathe and
sound the way it should, a Halltech intake improves airflow at the
top end, and black multi-spoke wheels give the exterior the right
finishing touch. This is a Corvette that has been thoughtfully
built on an already strong foundation.
Inside, the titanium grey leather two-tone interior with embroidery
is clean and well appointed with the full 3LT equipment group.
Power and memory seats, heated seats, and a heads-up display round
out a cabin that gives you everything you need and nothing you do
not. The removable transparent roof panel lets light pour in on
good days, and the carbon fiber center console and carbon spoiler
add a purposeful, performance-oriented feel throughout. A blue
vinyl wrapped engine cover is a clean detail that carries the
exterior color into the bay.
Among collectors of the C6 generation, roughly 40 percent of buyers
in 2005 ordered the six speed manual, and that number decreased
over the years as automatics gained ground. A Z51 equipped manual
car in a distinctive color, with this level of documentation and
this few miles, is exactly the kind of specification that serious
buyers go looking for and rarely find in this condition.
One owner, 8,500 miles, Z51, manual, and wearing one of the best
color combinations available on a C6.
