INTRODUCTION: Some cars are like finding the right mate. It starts
with attraction and this one is stunning! Then you learn of its
positive qualities- a big block, factory air conditioning, and a
4-speed. Then you discover what shape it's in- this one had a
body-off-frame restoration and is in outstanding condition. When
you find one like this, you better tie the knot!
EXTERIOR: Obviously, this is a beautiful car! The blue paint paired
with the white accents and the absence of a vinyl top makes it
especially attractive. Being a California car, the body appears
very solid and nicely fitted throughout, with no visible rust or
damage. The car has been repainted in a blue shade slightly darker
than the Le Mans Blue, giving it a rich and unique look. The
metallic finish is laid out very nicely, and the clear coat has an
excellent gloss. There are only minor imperfections if you go
looking closely. The white SS stripes down each side really stand
out. It appears that all of the chrome and trim has been replaced,
including the bumpers, grille, emblems, stainless moldings,
mirrors, door handles, taillights, and more. It even has the
correct antenna and proper T3 headlights. The windshield and
weatherstripping have been replaced as well. It sits on a mint
condition set of SS wheels with bright trim rings, wrapped in
Firestone Wide Oval reproduction tires. These are actually modern
radial tires made to replicate the original Polyglas look,
providing authentic styling with a much improved ride quality.
INTERIOR: The white interior is striking against the blue exterior
and presents beautifully throughout. The seats have not only been
reupholstered, but also recushioned, giving them a nice firm feel.
The headrests have been replaced, along with the door panels and
armrests. Fresh carpet lines the floor and is complemented by
reproduction floor mats. It is complete with a full set of GM
seatbelts and a center console. The dash area is very nice,
featuring factory gauges and tachometer, new heater control panel
and deluxe steering wheel. Below the dash, modern auxiliary oil
pressure, water temperature, and volt gauges have been added for
the most accurate monitoring. It has also been updated with a hands
free retro style stereo that fits the factory location, with an
auxiliary input discreetly mounted inside the glove box. Overhead,
the white headliner is in good condition, the dome light is
functional, and the visors match nicely.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Now this is a beautiful engine bay, and it
offers some very desirable features! It is powered by a 396 engine
rated at 325 horsepower. The engine appears largely stock in
presentation, including the air cleaner, valve covers, fuel line,
and exhaust manifolds, while benefiting from an upgraded Edelbrock
aluminum intake manifold. The front of the engine has fresh,
correct looking components including the alternator brackets,
pulleys, and power steering setup. This is a factory air
conditioning car that has recently received a major service and has
been retrofitted to modern R134a refrigerant. Additional features
include power brakes with a cadmium plated booster. The wiper motor
appears new, as does the clutch fan. It has spring clamp battery
cables with a Delco battery topper and reproduction hose clamps for
an authentic look. The compartment is complete right down to the
functioning horns, hooked up washer system, plastic grilles in the
cowl, and hood insulation. The wiring is routed neatly, and all
painted metal surfaces present very nicely, making this a highly
detailed and attractive engine compartment.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted the
same beautiful blue color, inside is solid metal with a spatter
finish applied. It has a reproduction mat and decals. It's even
complete with a restored spare and jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: The body was taken off the frame and mounted on a
rotisserie so the underside could receive the same level of
attention as the top side. It has clean California floors that were
prepped and painted semi-gloss black. The frame and chassis
components were powder coated for durability. It features the F41
suspension, which includes front and rear sway bars and boxed rear
control arms. The steering and suspension were completely rebuilt.
The brake system was completely redone, lines and e-brake cables
were replaced. It has front disc brakes and rear drums. The fuel
system was replaced, including the tank and fuel lines. A great
sounding dual exhaust runs through Flowmaster mufflers and exits
with the correct SS tips under the rear bumper. Looking up at the
motor, it is clean Chevy orange. It has a fresh-looking Muncie M21
4-speed with new linkage. A rebuilt driveshaft leads back to the
12-bolt rear end with 3.73 posi gears. This underside is
beautifully restored- worthy of putting mirrors on the ground at
car shows!
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: Again, this Chevelle checks all the boxes. Why settle
when you can have the one that truly stands out? The looks, the
options, the big block power, the factory air, the 4-speed, and the
body-off-frame restoration all come together in one incredible
package. Here's your opportunity to own a Chevelle you're not going
to want to let go of.
