INTRODUCTION: This RS/Z28 is the kind of car that rises above the
rest! The colors, the Rally Sport package, the options, and the
incredible restoration all come together perfectly. This car just
takes it to another level- people are not just impressed by it,
they are enamored by it, myself included and I look at thousands of
collector cars. Yes, this car commands a premium, because it
deserves it!
EXTERIOR: Be still my heart- this car gives me butterflies every
time I look at it! Everything about it is just right: the perfect
stance, outstanding fit and finish, and of course the incredible
combination of colors and features. The body is straight and clean
with no rust or damage, and it's finished in stunning Le Mans Blue.
According to the cowl tag, it's a code 71-71 blue upper and lower
car with no vinyl top, exactly the look enthusiasts dream about.
The white stripes are buried smooth beneath the finish, and
although this may be a factory blue car, the paint quality today is
better than it ever was from the factory! All of the chrome and
trim has been replaced, and it features the desirable exterior trim
package including wheel well moldings, rain gutter trim, and
quarter panel louvers. It also has the highly sought after Rally
Sport package with functioning hideaway headlights and relocated
reverse lights. The front and rear spoilers, along with the cowl
induction hood, give it an unmistakably aggressive appearance. The
windshield, weatherstrips, and seals were all replaced, and it's
sitting perfectly on 15-inch Rally wheels with bright trim rings
wrapped in reproduction tires.
INTERIOR: All that goodness continues on the inside with a gorgeous
white deluxe houndstooth interior, which is correct according to
the cowl tag. Everything has been replaced including the seat
cushions, upholstery, headrests, molded door panels, carpeting,
headliner, and more. It also has a full set of reproduction seat
belts. Other desirable features include console, the factory gauge
package with tachometer and clock, all of which are functioning
properly. The rosewood deluxe steering wheel on the tilt column
perfectly complements the deluxe interior woodgrain trim. Honestly,
the only reason you're going to want to climb out of this interior
is to stand back and admire the exterior again.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely restored to factory correct, like
new condition! This genuine DZ 302 is correctly dated to the car
and has been professionally rebuilt, it sounds and performs exactly
like a Z/28 should. It's loaded with all the proper components
including double hump heads, aluminum intake, dual feed Holley
carburetor, finned aluminum valve covers, and factory exhaust
manifolds complete with spark plug heat shields. Sitting on top is
a complete functional cowl induction system, and it even retains
the correct deep groove pulleys designed for this high revving
small block. Impressively, it still has the complete smog system in
place, truly bringing it back to 1969 specifications. The cooling
system is also proper with reproduction hoses, correct clamps,
shroud, and fan. Desirable options include power steering and power
brakes, along with a Delco battery topper and spring clamp cables.
Every single component looks fresh and correctly detailed, from the
alternator and wiper motor to the horns, vacuum system for the
hideaway headlights, and cadmium plated brake booster. It's
finished right down to the hood insulation, functional squirters,
proper decals, all new wiring, and neatly painted metal finishes
throughout.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Everything is fresh and detailed just like the
rest of the car. Under the trunk lid and in the jamb, the Le Mans
Blue paint is slick and glossy. Inside, the metal is spotless with
a neatly applied spatter finish and a very well fitted trunk mat.
The wiring has been replaced, the BFGoodrich tire mounted on the
Rally wheel spare is new, and the weatherstrip has also been
replaced.
UNDERSIDE: When somebody says "nut and bolt restored," this is
exactly what they're talking about! This underside has literally
been disassembled down to the smallest components and restored back
to assembly-line fresh condition. Every part has been cleaned,
detailed, restored, or replaced. The suspension and steering have
all been rebuilt and detailed correctly, right down to the proper
spiral shocks. The factory style brake system is completely new,
including the front disc brakes, rear drums, brake lines, and
e-brake assembly. It has a factory correct dual exhaust system with
the proper transverse muffler making the distinctive Z/28 sound.
The fuel system has been replaced as well, including the tank and
fuel lines. Looking up at the motor, the oil pan is painted gloss
Chevy orange, and all the surrounding components look fresh and
properly detailed. The 4-speed transmission looks fresh and the
numbers on it match this car, with all the linkage restored and
functioning properly. A rebuilt driveshaft leads back to the
correct 12-bolt rear end with tire shredding 4.10 posi gears. The
floors are absolutely immaculate. Honestly, they may be painted a
little glossier than factory, but wow, does it look good. This car
is detailed right down to the assembly line identification
tags.

drive it, you'll know you never settled.
