After enjoying a ten-year production run, the Ferrari 308 was replaced by the 328. In what would prove to be one of the last Ferraris to be developed and launched during Enzo Ferrari's life, the 328 used an updated chassis, new styling with body-color bumpers and a new rear valence, and an enlarged variant of the 308's V8 producing 270hp. Once again, the car was offered in 'Berlinetta' coupe and 'Spider' targa variants (marketd as the 328 GTB and 328 GTS, respectively). The interior was also completely overhauled, with new switchgear and seat patterns along with new gauges. Combined, the new updates helped the 328 feel more modern than the 308 it replaced without sacrificing that car's exceptional driving feel.
Only produced for four years before being replaced with the nearly all-new 348, the model's relative rarity helps ensure future collectivity. Further, due to its dramtically improved design and relative ease of use, the 328 (in both forms) is fondly remembered today as being one of the most usable of the mid-engine Ferraris from the period. As such, it is no surprise values for these cars are rising, especially considering superlative examples are proving more and more difficult to acquire.
The incredible 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS featured here is finished in stunning Nero (Black) over an impeccably kept matching Nero Connolly leather interior. This exquisite motorcar was purchased new in Southern California by renowned Hollywood executive, Alan F. Horn, the former president of Warner Bros. and later CEO of Walt Disney Studios. Mr. Horn owned this spectacular Ferrari for three decades, keeping it meticulously maintained and accumulating a mere 18,239 miles from new. It is with great pride we offer this investment-grade Ferrari 328 GTS to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best an investment price!
