In 1969 they made 243,085 camaros, and in 1970 they made 117,604 but there is only one 1969 1/2 as we blended the two years and built a one off Camaro custom named Gnarlee. We fabricated a 1969 nose onto a 1970 tub, added a split bumper, a 73 roadrunner hood scoop, Heidts front subframe, with Heidts rear independent suspension. Eric Brockmeyer came up with the color and outside design with the old bomber themed interior with
distressed leather and complete custom, fabricated cockpit. Caged, tubbed, custom spoilers, custom aluminum block LS engine disguised as an old Chrysler hemi with intricate panels under hood to finish the custom theme. Scott wheels, Michelin pilot sport, 335/30/2R20 on rear 295/35/2R19 on the front with custom stainless exhaust that exits just under the license plate. The car has gas fill on the side of roof, wildwood brakes, electric cutouts, and vintage air, Detroit speed headlights. Fabrication by Lorenzo's and Paint & Body by HM Auto both of Eastern Iowa.
The car has won two awards at Goodguys, Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit and World of Wheels in Omaha, and was Grand Champion at St. Paul Street Machine Nationals as well as being invited to SEMA 2022. It seems to always draw a crowd as it is not cookie cutter and made with the help of several local Eastern Iowa businesses.
