This 1967
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was produced on June 30th 1967 and
sold New at Owen Chevy-Olds of Georgetown Ohio. This Corvette is
being offered for the first time in its Immaculate Restored
Condition out of the Collection of Joe Verrillo. With only 815
Black 1967 Corvette produced with a rare Radio Delete and 3:70 Open
Rear axle. To find a car with the specific unusual options this
Corvette was produced with the quality of restoration and award
pedigree this corvette possesses would be a tall task.The Exterior
is Finished in Tuxedo Black Lacquer as it was paint was applied
when it rolling down the assembly line in 1967. All the body panels
fit just as they did when the car was brand new. All the bumpers
are triple chrome plated with a show chrome finish. All the
stainless brightwork is polished to a show finish. The side exhaust
covers were NOS covers when installed. The Vinyl Top is completely
restored with new weatherstripping and restored stainless
moldings.
The Interior is completely restored and in immaculate condition
with restored vinyl seats, New Carpets, a completely restored and
rebuild instrument cluster and clock, Beautiful original Door
panels, Original Dash pads and an Nos shift console. This interior
shows as nice or nicer than
new.
The chassis was completely restored. The frame was sandblasted and
painted in factory low gloss black with the factory vin stamp still
visible. The Front control arm are finished in high gloss black
with rivetted ball joints just as they were done from the factory.
The steering knuckles were glass beaded, and the ends were finished
in orange. The front shocks were sandblasted and finished in the
factory cast finish along with the front sway bar assembly. The
Brake calipers were finished in gloss black with the machined
surfaces machined to natural finish. The Shocks are Original Dated
GM finished in the factory Finish. The Rear Trailing arms are
completely Restored and finished in High Gloss Black with Rivetted
rotors as new. The Half Shafts and driveshafts are in a natural
finish like new. All the brake and fuel lines have the correct
fittings and finish as new. All the factory paint markings are in
place with the body shim markings and chalk markings.
The Driveline is completely original to the car and
restored to factory condition and functionality. The engine was
completely disassembled and rebuilt with all Correct Component
including the correct hydraulic camshaft. The components are all
correct dated components including the intake manifold, Correct
"Finned" Harmonic Balancer, exhaust manifolds, alternator, starter,
carburetor, Voltage Regulator and distributor and NOS Exhaust Side
Pipes. The transmission was completely disassembled the case was
tumbled to resemble a factory bare aluminum finish and completely
rebuilt. The rear differential is a 3:70 Ratio Open rear axle which
is not only rare for a corvette it is exceptionally rare in a L79
corvette. The rear differential was disassembled and rebuilt to
perform as
new.
Once the restoration was complete under the direction of Joe
Verrillo he decided to take the corvette out on the Judging circuit
where it received a Regional Top Flight Award in September of 2023
at the NCRS Regional Event in Ontario Canada. The corvette then
went on to the NCRS Regional Meet in Marlboro Massachusetts where
it achieved its NCRS Performance Verification Award ( One of the
most coveted awars in the hobby). Joe then took the car to
Bloomington Gold where it achieved a Bloomington Gold OEM Award in
June of 2024. The Final event was the Muscle Car And Corvette
Nationals In Rosemont Illinois in November of 2024 where this
Corvette Received a NCRS Top Flight Award and its MCACN Gold
Concourse award and a MCACN Triple Diamond Award (The Judging
Photos are from that
event).
