Stock Number: 1028 - 1978 Pontiac Trans AM, W72 - 400 with a Borg
Warner 4-speed transmission. It shows only 56,804 miles. It was
sold new at Miller-Stephan Pontiac in Boise, Idaho, as shown on the
Factory Invoice provided by PHS. It has spent its life out in the
no-salt western states. It is an extremely clean survivor car that
has had one repaint several years ago. It is powered by the High
Output W72 Pontiac 400 engine. This engine puts out 220HP, 20% more
than the Standard 400. The engine in this TA was rebuilt, so it
runs and drives very well. The previous owner spent a lot of time
and money maintaining and upgrading this car to keep it in great
running condition. A full Wilwood 4-wheel disk brake system and UMI
Suspension upgrades were installed. Ram-Air exhaust manifolds and a
Full Pypes Stainless Exhaust System have been added. The interior
has new Seat upholstery and door panels installed, too. Everywhere
you look, this is a high-quality Trans AM. It is a solid
driver-plus quality car with paint that is in very good condition
with some minor imperfections, as one would expect on a true
survivor car, but still provides an overall nice presentation.
Martinique Blue is a one-year-only color and is considered very
collectible. It is definitely the most sought-after color of the
1978 model year, making this 4-speed Trans AM the one to own. This
is a full numbers-matching car.
