Gateway Classic Cars is proud to digitally present this 1994
Pontiac Trans Am Pace Car.
This Pace Car goes far beyond the other limited production 25th
Anniversary Edition Trans Ams of 1994. It is reported to be 1 of
only 2 actual track pace cars. This car set the pace for 29 of 31
NASCAR races in the 1994 season. There are numerous photos and some
legendary signatures on the car that tell the story of this very
rare collectible. The hardtop roof was limited to less than 350
anniversary cars but necessary on this one to hold the still
functional track light bar that adorns the car even today. And the
Pontiac logo on the rear deck lid is flipped in order for the TV
coverage camera facing back to the pack to read it properly on
screen. The car is wearing the door tags from the AC-Delco 500 at
the then NC Motor Speedway where Dale Earnhardt Sr. clinched his
7th and final championship that year.
The car has all the usual amenities to be expected in a Anniversary
Edition car, the 5.7 liter fuel injected LT1 motor with four speed
automatic, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, am/fm
cassette stereo, as well as the special 25th anniversary stitching
on the upholstery.
This is a low mileage, very collectible 25th Anniversary Edition
Trans Am with its throwback white exterior and blue stripe livery,
but add in its track history, and you have the rarest of 'Birds
with an unmatched provenance to tell at the next car show or cruise
in.
Whether you want a limited edition Trans Am, or a piece of NASCAR
history, this car has both!
