Cosmetic

• Paint/Body: Super straight body lines on this all steel beauty. There are only two small bubble spots on the body that I can see. The paint is older and has scratches on the passenger side and on the trunk area. Its possible buffing could help, a touch up paint job would finish the car off with nice driver quality paint.
• Interior: All of the interior appears to have been replaced during a restoration. The dash is original and in good shape for its age with some minor pitting here and there. Seats are nice and comfy. Carpet has a stain where something leaked from under the dash in the past. I do not see any leaks at this time.
• Glass/Windows: All of the glass is in good original condition. The window felts and weatherstripping appear to be newer. Windows all roll up and down easily incuding smooth vent windows.
• Trunk/Bed: The trunk has a nice original mat, spare tire, and some misc parts in a box. The floor of the trunk pan has 3 rust holes on the drivers side. Other than those the trunk looks super solid for being original.
• Undercarriage: Incredible California survivor appearance underneath this car. Frame rails are rust free and solid from front to back. Rocker panels are solid as are the bottom of the doors and hinge pockets. Floor pans are rust free, inner fender wells solid and no rust that we see. There are 3 rust holes in the trunk pan on the drivers side. The fuel tank appears to be new.
• Wheels/Tires: Original racing turbine wheels with older tires that have good tread.

Mechanical

• Drivetrain: This V8 starts easily and runs strong. There is a small exhaust leak you hear when its first cranked and warming up, it goes away almost completely when the engine is warm. The old transmission was replaced with a 3-speed automatic that shifts smoothly through all gears. She appears to have a posi-traction rear end as well. This Catalina drives smoothly down the road, an old lead sled or couch on wheels!
• Lights/Electrical: Headlights and brights work as well as running and brake lights. Turn signals seem to work most of the time but the indicator on the dash does not always blink. Heater blower motor works on low and high and heater switches move freely. Even the dome light turns on when you open the doors!
• Brakes: Brakes pull slightly to the right then left when braking softly. On a hard break there is a slight pull to the left then it evens out and stops straight. My experience driving this car is that it performs like and old original, and brakes can always be adjusted.
• Power Options: Power steering works great. Power brakes stop. Power seat is not functional. Horn works but honks intermittently when you turn the wheel so I disconnected it. The wipers do work but they get stuck on sometimes, likely need a new switch.
