Spectacular Saleen #07-0014. 40,172 miles. Loaded with
supercharger, automatic transmission, Speedster package, 20-inch
wheels, and more. Nicely documented. A gorgeous Saleen Mustang
that's still ferociously fast and surprisingly civilized. In the
world of Mustang tuners, Saleen stands tall, second only to Shelby
when it comes to building bespoke Mustangs. In fact, Saleen is the
only tuner who managed to get their own VINs assigned to the cars,
creating not Ford Mustangs, but Saleen Mustangs, an important
distinction. This gorgeous Grabber Orange 2007 Saleen S281
convertible is serial number 07-0014, an early production example
with a few noteworthy upgrades and a great pedigree. According to
the documentation that accompanies the car, only eight Grabber
Orange S281 convertibles were built, making it a rather rare find
all by itself. Of course, you can drill down the options and it
becomes one-of-one, if that matters, but the important thing is
that this car has always been cherished and treated as something
special, making it an ideal opportunity for the hobbyist who has
always wanted a unique Mustang. The Grabber Orange paint is
stunning in person, glowing in the sunlight and just the right
shade for a high-performance convertible. Add in the Saleen styling
tweaks, which include front and rear fascias, side skirts, hood,
and the optional Speedster tonneau and light bar, and you get one
of the best-looking Mustangs in recent memory. It remains in
outstanding condition throughout and likely has never seen
inclement weather or track use. It's superb. The charcoal leather
interior features an equal number of Saleen upgrades, including
those super supportive Saleen sport seats. Other details include
custom door sills, special gauge faces, a pair of boost and intake
temperature gauges on top of the dash, and the light bar behind the
front seats. Like the exterior, the interior is in excellent
condition with only minor signs of use (the car is approaching its
20th birthday, after all), and everything works like it should.
And, of course, you also get all the usual Mustang factory options,
including cold A/C, power windows, locks, and mirrors, cruise
control, and a powerful Shaker audio system with in-dash CD
changer. Looking closely, you'll note Steve Saleen's signature on
the dash, and if you install the optional Speedster tonneau over
the back seat, you'll find his signature there, too. The black
canvas top is power-actuated and stows under either the factory
soft tonneau or the Saleen Speedster hard-shell tonneau that gives
the car a 2-seater look. The trunk looks unused, and under the deck
lid you'll find more signatures from the Saleen team. The reason
Saleens are special is because they're much, much more than just a
collection of aftermarket parts. Most of the components in a Saleen
are unique and manufactured in-house to create a balanced package
that most tuners can't match. Most notably, there's that big
honkin' supercharger on top of the Mustang's 281 cubic inch 3-valve
V8, boosting output to more than 475 horsepower. There's also a
custom air intake, cool aluminum hardware and knobs, and the
requisite serial number badging, as well as a custom ECU program to
make it run and drive like a docile stocker. Your grandmother could
drive this car every day and not know that there's nearly 500
horsepower on tap. Or she could stand on it and easily stomp some
pretty serious hardware on the street. Either way, the result is
extremely impressive. Ford's tough 5-speed automatic transmission
is a great choice with the boosted engine, making performance
effortless, and we believe there are 4.10 gears on a limited slip
in the rear differential. A full Saleen Racecraft suspension plants
the Mustang to the road and braking is complements of massive
14-inch front brakes and 4-piston calipers. Those gorgeous 20-inch
chrome wheels were optional, and are fitted with 275/35/20 front
and 275/40/20 rear Pirelli PZero radials that have lots of life
left in them.Documentation includes photos of the build at Saleen's
Irvine, CA facility, delivery at the dealership, magazine articles
about the car, and much more.Exceptionally fast, beautifully
finished, and wonderfully preserved, this is an investment-grade
Saleen that's ready to enjoy. Thanks to a bulletproof pedigree, its
future value is all but guaranteed, and along the way you get to
enjoy one of the coolest Mustangs ever produced. Call today!Harwood
