Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1964 Chevrolet Impala
SS for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. In a December 17th,
1960, press release, Chevrolet introduced the Impala SS option to
the market. The SS badge was to become Chevy's signature of
performance on many models. The '64 Impala was intended to be the
most elegant, graceful automobile in its price range.
The car was finished from the factory in Daytona Blue (WW) and was
reportedly repainted under prior ownership. Daytona Blue was one of
the most desirable and iconic colors for 1964. Exterior features
include chrome bumpers and trim, metal side moldings, quad
headlights, and "409" fender badging as well as "SS" badging.
The blue color scheme is carried throughout the interior, including
the front bucket seats, rear bench, carpeting, door panels, and
dashboard. Additional features include a center console with
engine-turned trim, AM/FM radio, and an engine-turned dashboard
panel. The two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a
horizontal-sweep 120-mpg speedometer along with an optional 6k-rpm
tachometer mounted to the steering column, a fuel level gauge, and
an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 71K miles, total
mileage is unknown.
At its heart is a highly desirable 409 QB-code "X" block and heads,
signifying Chevrolet's top-tier 425 horsepower dual-quad
configuration for 1964 passenger cars. The QB suffix identifies the
425 HP dual-quad engine - the ultimate factory 409 offering - while
the "X" mark is associated with high-performance W-series castings
that are especially sought after in authentic 1964 Impala SS
restorations. Based on pictures and documentation from previous
ownership, it is believed this car came from the factory as a true
409 equipped with a Muncie 4-speed - a combination that defines the
era and dramatically elevates collector desirability.
The car has undergone an extensive frame-off restoration, and the
409 has been professionally rebuilt, ensuring performance that
matches its visual presence. Call Classic Car Addict today at
