Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1959 Chevrolet Impala
Flat Top for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Under GM's Design
Director, Bill Mitchell, Chevrolet styling changed radically, with
no clues to the past. Virtually nothing from the old Harley Earl
era remained. For 1959 Chevrolet featured all new slimline styling
with wider, roomier bodies; new front fascia and grille,
seagull-wing rear fascia, and "cat's eye" taillights.
The Impala is finished in two-tone Harbor Blue and Snowcrest White
and exterior details include quad headlights, dual front air
intakes, chrome bumpers, fender and door-mounted side mirrors, dual
antennas, horizontal tail fins, teardrop taillights, and reverse
indicators. The car was fully repainted. Located in the trunk is a
full continental kit that was not installed.
The bench seating is upholstered in multi-tone blue cloth and
vinyl. The rear bench seat does have seatbelts. Interior
appointments include polished dashboard trim, manual-crank windows,
a push button AM radio, heater and defroster, and quarter-vent
windows. The two-spoke steering wheel features a semicircular
chrome horn ring, and it fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog
clock, warning-light cluster, and gauges for coolant temperature
and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 74,999 miles.
The 283ci V8 engine was fully rebuilt and features a Rochester
two-barrel carburetor. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a
two-speed powerglide automatic transmission. It features power
steering to provide modern integral steering that eliminated the
leaky, unreliable slave cylinder system.
Blue-finished 14" steel wheels wear original-style hubcaps with
7.50-14 wide whitewall tires. Braking is provided by front power
disc brakes with drilled rotors and rear power drum brakes.
