62 Year Owned 1960 Fiat Abarth 750 GT Zagato Coupe "Double
Bubble"Just out of 62 years of loving enthusiast ownership, this
1960 Fiat Abarth 750 GT Derivazione Coupe Zagato aka "Double
Bubble" is a beautiful example that runs and drives fantastic and
has many performance upgrades. Bianco with a U.S. racing team blue
stripe. The previous owner purchased the car from his boss in 1964
and has owned the car ever since. The car was sitting in a barn in
a small rural village in upstate NY when he purchased it. He then
towed the car back to his driveway where the work began. He then
got the car back on the road and enjoyed it for several years until
the mid 1970's when he decided to rebuild the engine. It was at
this time that the original engine and transaxle went missing while
they were out of the car awaiting rebuilding and reinstallation. He
then made the decision to source the engine from his Fiat-Abarth
OT-1000 Spider. Prior to the installation, the OT-1000 engine was
refreshed and fitted with new 66 mm Arias forged aluminum pistons.
The crank was sent to a balance shop where it was spun balanced to
15,000 RPM. During the reassembly all moving parts were weighed and
matched to .1 gram and the engine runs smooth and strong to this
day. The car has seen a few appropriate modifications over the
years including a Hewland Mk4 4 speed manual transaxle with quick
change gears. True to the Abarth tradition, this car was made
stronger and faster using the best technology available at the
time. According to the previous owner, he tried to modify the car
in a way that the Abarth factory would have done if they had kept
producing the vehicle.Chassis 669079 Upgrades Include:Engine:
