Few Ferraris embody the purity of the marque's golden era quite
like the Dino 246 GTS. Widely regarded as one of the most
beautifully balanced and engaging analog sports cars ever produced,
the Dino combines Pininfarina's timeless design with a lightweight,
mid-engine platform and an unmistakable V6 soundtrack.
DriverSource is proud to present this stunning 1973 Ferrari Dino
246 GTS (Chassis 06134), a highly documented and mechanically
sorted example with known collector ownership and desirable period
features.
Showing 40,500 miles, this Dino was previously owned by noted
Ferrari collector Ray Spear, founder of Guitar Center. During his
ownership in 2005, the car underwent a comprehensive engine and
gearbox rebuild by respected Ferrari specialists Carobu Engineering
of Costa Mesa, California, with extensive supporting documentation
including invoices, parts records, and detailed photographic
coverage of the rebuild.
More recently, the car has been serviced and maintained by renowned
Ferrari specialist Patrick Ottis, further supporting its strong
mechanical pedigree.
Originally finished in the rare factory color Nocciola (106-M-27)
over Beige Scuro VM 846 Connolly leather, this example retains its
factory-correct specification as confirmed by a Marcel Massini
history report on file, which also verifies matching-numbers
engine, gearbox, and body.
Today, the car is presented in red over tan and offers a compelling
combination of rarity, documentation, and usability making it an
ideal Dino for both driving enjoyment and collector
